I could see us trade away Myers and replace with Pesce now - Retinalz
Ya that was the first thing I thought of as well. |

‘Major Surgery’
Bo alone doesn’t quite fit the bill. Sure some UFA’s signed but that’s holes for depth. Idk if Pesce but I’m fixated he’d be a great target. |

Two fold imo
Scoring after once again a good structured team fizzled in another PO. run. Second draft capital which could be flipped. Both would be a starting point. |

Canuck fans would be very nervous on any big trade given the cost. Can bet on it getting plenty of divided opinions if one happened. Already happening after getting Hronek & his injury raising doubt &/ or red flags. That deal is crucial to pan out. |

You were asking yesterday who should Canucks target? You guys will hate this answer but a very good first round pick in MTL has been lighting it up in the minors . He is almost ready to make the jump and has been cleared by the NHL. London Knights RHD 25 Goals 53 Pts. Six foot three.

Logan Mailloux
If looking at the future that’s one choice but I think it’s more immediate where the focus lies. |

I personally would not let one player force me to make moves that affects the future of the club. I would take a step back and offer Montreal Petey and Podz for Suzuki Reinbacher and Mailloux. Canucks D in two years would be stacked with young RHD .
I don't think they are close enough to prove they are contenders. Not really a rebuild either when you remove Petey and put in Suzuki.

On the surface that looks plausible. Idk if the Habs would trade their new captain so soon. On Reinbacher I need to see him adjust & meet expectations. Not totally sold on that so giving him top 4 credit. Mailloux yer to make the jump but is intriguing.
Summary not a bad offer |

Yeah I think Montreal would want more. I would look at it maybe Lickermacki added. This would take away the pressure of having to make stupid moves to make Petey happy.
You could then trade Cole and Myers at TDL and hope that Boeser has a good year and move him out as well.
We have gone a decade or more of being bad so what is two more years?
DPetey Hronek Willander Mailloux Reinbacher Soucy.
PS: I don't believe it will happen and I think Petey will get sorted out, but it is not the worst thing that can happen if he wants more than 10.

Lots to digest but can see a wait n see scenario before any blockbuster.
Petey 6/11m team friendly or 4-5/12m maybe his ask. |

Allvin is just beginning to grow on me. It can still go either way. I think his first year was terrible and this summer he seems to be gathering steam.
I think it comes down to again the owner. How much will FA have his hand in this. The owner rightfully so wants gate receipts and merch and the management want to build.
I still can't wrap my head around Petey wanting 10 mil plus and wanting to be competitive now.

If Petey wants to play on a competitive team, I doubt Montreal can convince him to sign long-term if he were traded there as it essentially negates his value.

I still think Petey has carefully laid the pieces for an exit rather than another deal. The Matthews deal helps his cause even further b/c he can just put it all on his agent and now a 12 or 13 mill ask (depending on the how much cap goes up) isn't all that crazy, even if it is his way of saying he wants out.
It's not very common a guy goes out of his way to proclaim he wants to play on a winner wherever that is right out of his entry level deal. To me that's the biggest sign. If canucks were several steps ahead from that point, I think he'd be fine to re-sign ... but where we're at now he's covered his arse for that situation. I said I wanted to win, and we've been worse since then. Case closed.
I like him, I think he's a great player, I just think he's already sick of the canuck drama and spinning wheels. Too polite / that swedish or european way prevents him from coming right out and saying he's breaking up ... and it is you not me kind of thing. |

100 percent behind that drama statement. Much like Edler. Pretty much a kiss my ass farewell from Edler. I like him but the end could be near and if the Canucks were more competitive I would say yes pay him.

Maybe some that aren't necessarily top tier now but have been building for a few years. It's not like he's an aging vet looking for one more shot.
I can even see him thinking Chicago is more attractive at this point. The rise from obscurity can happen pretty fast these days when going all in on bottoming out. |

Allvin needed grace time to unravel a big mess. Bit the bullet on OEL was tough to swallow.
Moving forward he’s starting to make his imprint on the team. So far cannot really knock what he’s begun. He still has plenty to do so the jury remains out.
Revenues will take care it itself. FA should take a back seat.
On Petey he’s a cornerstone elite C which any team needs. Money is irrelevant it’s who surrounds him & results. Big year to make real progress. |

Chicago has crossed my mind, also Columbus. Montreal has had some very good picks in the last two years. DET?
I can't see NYR TOR LA TB VGK having the Cap or need. He would not be top banana on any of those teams so I don't see them signing him for 12 mil.
Boston maybe but they are a team aging. NJ doesn't have the cap.

I don't buy the who you surround him with. Kuz had 39 goals 74 points. That is a damn fine who do you surround him with. Wait a year and sign Nylander and you pretty well have one of the best lines in hockey.
Like it or not Canucks prospect pool has improved 100 % in the last 8 months.
I am not going out today so hockey talk |

I think you got your answer. It’s Petey stays and gets paid big time. The first list of teams are not any better then the Canucks for Petey to accept a sign and trade. |

I don't think anything is slam dunk. I will go with the odds and say a deal will get done but there are a lot of questions.
I don't think PA wants to pay that much and wants to continue on a smarter build and not be rushed into things.
I think FA is saying get this done.
I think Petey is wait and see.
There seems to be no urgency from any side. I do believe Petey is tired of the drama and ownership but who knows.

By surround I meant a perennial PO roster. It’s getting closer.
As for Willy it’ll take a ton of cap juggling mgmt & resign Petey & Hronek.
100% better wasn’t hard to do 😂🤪
As for me at home prepping for my next work road trip. Argh lol |
