There's always a handful of full load slurpers in here.

Overstated imo. Rather say open minded & not led by the media. Tbh most of us in here make our own opinions. I for example listen to what RT says & sometimes the players. I’m keen on their offseason training & conditioning. The media is mostly fluff & bs but I am getting more & more used to analytics. I apply them in my own way which isn’t an exact science 🤪

The eye test is still my go to. Myers 👎

On Hog I’m hoping he comes to camp with a chip on his shoulder & something to prove. No waiver exemption. Needs to be a pest & puck hound & solid 200’ game. The scoring will come.

On Pod although I think he starts in Abby due to cap reasons unless someone is traded has to be a bull & much more consistent. Blue collar in your face to get into the coaches good books. Has to stand out the way Burrows use to. Every shift.

Klimovich is still a project that can play the power game. Improve his skating more & be a top 6 producer.

Licky has the skills but D isn’t close to NHL levels. Not bottom 6 material so lots of work to do still.

I like plenty of the D but none are NHL ready soon. At least we are stockpiling some but none are top pairing. Willander is more like top 4 if he develops. D Petey looks to be a nice mean potential Hughes partner in the future. Kudryatsev is one to watch out for. Could be a good late pick. Hirose has impressed.

Whatever happened to players being like Guy Carbonneau who were great Jr players but adapted to the NHL to be a great shutdown C?

Other than high draft picks we need someone like him to come from the system on a cheap elc to avoid signing UFA’s all the time. Is Max Sasson that type of player? Idk

Arshdeep Bains bottom 6 Swiss Army knife potential?

Rueby complaining that we signed a player under six foot who is a good player and praising Det who just signed Holl a bigger player for three years over three mil per and can't play .

Another Detroit castoff was Bertuzzi and he seems pretty good.

They also traded for Debrincat who is five foot seven.

Ghostibehere under six foot.

Detroit made some very questionable signings this year and finished lower that Canucks and drafted a Swede under six foot Dman in the first round. You may want to look for a better example.

I don't see a lot of help from Abby this year.

Hogs will probably be promoted and I can see Hirose and Juulssen. A few may be demoted like Podz and Aman.

A few may get a couple of games but hopefully Dries and DeGuissepe stay on the farm.

Hog has to make the roster I don’t think he’s waiver exempt still.

As for Podz and rest they will develop off roster. At least until wingers are cleared like Garland and Beauv etc.

D Petey plays left D so not sure he’s partnering with QH. You’d think the hope is one of the RSD in system.

I thought Drance or someone said Hogz is still waiver eligible , but only has to play a couple more games then he's not

So the lad had a bit of a rough season last year. It happens, people seem to forget the entire team sucked. He performed well under Shaw. Would like to see him with Foote and Gonchar before we shoot him into the Sun forever.

They were supposed to move forward last year with their signings and the young players taking a step forward that didn't. Now they are adding expensive depth pieces.

Even though I liked Schenn and Burroughs I don't know how anyone can take it as moving forward when you have Dermott Bear Stillman Studnicka Dries Aman DiGuiseppe Delia Schenn and Burroughs as regulars.

Take into account also Demko and the PP sucked big time in the first half.

I give them credit for at least looking to fix the holes in the game from last year. I don't know where you get the expensive depth pieces from?

Hoping it goes that way. Prospects need time if they’re gonna make it.

Maybe, but he's not wrong.

Although I would argue detroit much further ahead of us based on way more prospects and picks that could hit. But we do get a couple of their cast-offs to fill some holes.

Ahhh sorry man, maybe there's a few guys on the team you can brush off as a rough season, but not Myers. He's had a bad 4 seasons, and Winnipeg let him walk because he wasn't playing very well there either. One of those rumoured to go to Van all the way and we just had to have. Just like OEL, he's been a disaster on the ice he's just perceived not as much so because he didn't cost us trade assets as well.

This sounds like a rebuild measure. The Canucks are not doing that. Though does Detroit have Demko QH and Petey level players? Also JTM Kuzmenko etc scorers? Then there is Mik and BB too. You know players that add to the roster.

Going off the capfriendly 23 man roster of the Canucks, the team has 13 players over 185 lbs, with 2 of those being goalies.

Impressive.
