Agreed I would love to see Dries and DeGuissepe light it up.... in Abby and not be needed on the big club. That in itself is progress and growth that the depth players are NHL calibre and not good AHL'ers who have never been able to consistently play in the NHL. I will take the Pius Suter's of the world as he has been an actul NHL player the last 3 years and not a call-up fill in player. When I look at depth that is what I want to see is the players in the pressbox are actual NHL players and the AHL guys (not the kids the journeymen) stay there. - Nucknab23

They are staying in their own lane. Have you never heard of the exit ramp?
I think the hockey will be a lot better this year. They made a lot of adjustments and looked at their weak areas. They have 3 or four good kids in the system now they are improving. - VANTEL
Last season for the first time in my life as a fan of the Canucks on many occasions I didn't watch all the games, and many I didn't finish. Once Tocchet took over I gave them another try to only be slightly less disappointed. I am optimistic that the coaches (Foote and Gonchar working with the D)system and the new personnel that the game play will be much more entertaining.
I am going to training camp in Victoria with my kids so I can see how they look, and I have this stupid trait-I'm hopeful. I want them to at the very least compete hard not for us or the coaches, but for each other and play like a team and not just a few at the top of the roster and the rest not seeming to care. |

I grew up listening to Jim Robson when most games weren’t on tv. Once all games were telecast & he is gone I still watch every game possible work permitting for the shear pleasure of entertainment. Others can complain or give up as their choice. Win or lose I watch & try to tune out the white noise of the complaining fanbase that has no end. It’s pointless to listen. |

I’ll listen to constructive criticism & how to fix things. Those who only paint a bleak picture without adding anything good doesn’t cut it. |

I hear ya for sure and consider myself a fan to the end, but... I found myself prioritizing other things over games and it was odd for me. I am optimistic and have already purchased the Sportsnet now subscription. I just want to watch a team that cares as much as we as fans do. To borrow a line from Shoresy
"its not that they don't love to win, it's that they don't hate to lose!"
I feel like they're moving in the right direction, and I will keep cheering.

Need advice from golfers svp
Gotta get a putter asap. New or used is fine so comes down to Odyssey White Hot or Ping or Scotty Cameron if the right price. I want a blade single preferred. Or Taylormade could be fine. Cleveland idk about.
Thx in advance. - Nighthawk
I have a Cleveland ... and I'm a horrific putter most days (including yesterday). |

This isn't true. People forget he was our top plus minus guy on D 2 years ago at +15.
The entire team stunk last season. The Goaltending we got wasn't very good either. The forwards looked lost in our D zone. Our breakouts and forecheck were brutal. If you want to lay that on 1 guy, fine. I'm not going to though. - Load Management
For me it's all about the eye test on Myers. He crumbles under any kind of pressure, which is a shame for someone of that size. He's got zero offensive instincts, which honestly would be fine if he could simply retrieve and move the puck up, but the puck is like grenade on his stick and he coughs up at the most inopportune times.
I never said I blame just him, but imho the d-core will continue to struggle with him in the mix no matter how much tinkering you do. |

Detroits free agent signings were bizarre this summer. I don't think Yzerman is a genius nor a Benning. I'm just glad there were no Beagle-esque free agent signings by the Canucks this summer. The first off season in about 8 years that hasn't been an unmitigated disaster. We'll see how training camp goes. - Marwood
Yeah I know I may have sounded like an Yzerman slurper, I've just been concerned at the cost of adding Hronek. Another injured guy with not a lot of history of playing a full season. I feel like it was a significant overpay, and the timing was weird like Yzerman made up a bidding war or something. There couldn't have been too many teams interested in that time of year for an injured guy.
I can't say I like or understand all the individual moves Stevie Y has made, but who knows maybe it comes together. He at least has track record vs. a glorified scout in Benning who couldn't reduce his buffet time to find a few moments to call Toffoli. |
