I am so sour about how EA has handled this franchise. I last played when I preordered NHL 20 and played hut for about a month before quitting it completely and never going back.
Rick can (frank) off, making me look up NHL 24 and seeing that the gameplay actually looks interesting. - JRR1285
Every year is just basically updated rosters with superficial changes but apparently this year they focused on gameplay. (frank) EA but I need to play nhl games
The upgrades look pretty cool, every year they seem to try to add more realism to the gameplay and mechanics. - aecliptic
It has become a game of keep away (puck ragging) and glitch goals. The new system if implemented properly will not reward players for puck ragging. Still not confident that they can clean up some of the glitch goals but here's to hoping.
The problems are most apparent when playing online in HUT and whatever other competitive modes they have right now. So many people play super sweaty and get all pissed when you beat them etc.
I am also so far removed from the game I would basically have to start from scratch. I do want to get the game to play some more casual matches but I know so few people that would even play.

For the most part, yes. The other huge issue they have is the game will be good/decent at launch and gets patched into oblivion when high profile players/streamers start whining. It always feels more like hockey the first month or so until the "balance" patches start rolling out.
This appears to be a problem across EA's entire lineup.
