Those pizza ovens you can get now are pretty good. I had a pizza making party at buddy's house. Ate the ass out of pizza that night.
- Zezel

I’ve got one. You get a good small oven for not much money. My kid has become obsessed with pizza dough making.

Those top two are pretty much tied. Life is great when they’re both in season. I can get fresh (picked twice a day) twenty minutes from here. Place has great produce and homemade pies, cookies, breads, etc. They also bring in great local meat.

you only need enough salt, pepper, oil and vinegar to give it a little bit of a zing and bring the tomato flavour out

once it soaks a bit, all the tomato juices will come out, and you and the gf will be fighting for who gets to drink the leftover juices once the salad is done

leave the onion at the bottom when you make it and let it sit for awhile after making so the onions mellow out at a bit

- TheMussel

Thanks for the instruction with this. I’ll likely give in when it comes to the bottom because that dressing is her flat out favourite and she’s far more attractive then I deserve lol

I don’t miss that… I’d work weekend mornings at BP and make hundreds of them each day before the restaurant opened. So yeah, I’ve made thousands of them so I got my need to do so covered lol

Love corn, but I’m more about the fresh tomatoes atm tbh. Constantly make sandwich’s and dice the rest up (top and bottom for instance) and use the diced ones to top things routinely.
- Dozzer

I’ve got 6 tomato plants just pumping out wonderful ripe tomatoes right now. Found a great way to make pasta, just grating the tomatoes down to the skin and heating them for 3 minutes in oil and garlic, turning off the heat and adding spaghetti and parm and basil.

Sandwiches with sliced tomato sitting on a piece of toasted bread with some good sharp cheddar mixed with mayo is a new joy.

Yeah, I’m kind of hoping she’ll be into the idea of making it with me. Based on that loose recipe it’s definitely something I can see her becoming hooked on which I could send with her to work as well. This might make me a bit of a champ today so thank you for that as well!

I like fresh corn as much as the next guy, but nothing is better than pizza. Except maybe winning the Indy 500.

I was in Italy and spain back in may, there was a restaurant in spain that had this amazing juicy garlic sausage pizza...my gawd it was so (frank)ing good.

That sounds like a tasty pasta for sure!

As for the sandwiches I make them similarly, just cheese is a come and go (depending on mood) and I add ground pepper on the mayo, I also a “spring mix” style of salad as a topping

What our daughter and son in law did on their honeymoon this year made me jealous as hell lol

France for 3 days to enjoy the food there
Italy for 3 days to enjoy the food there
Greece for 3 days to enjoy the food there.

Turned out to be our gift to them which I love though. We waited til they got over to Europe and forwarded them the money to pay for the majority of the food in each country.

godamn when you get one with a nice big chunk of marrow and you got the little spoon, and you leave it for the end like it's a little savoury dessert when you're done the meal

i'm making it this weekend

I remember I tried it at this spot because I was looking at the menu before hand, while up at my mom’s place and she goes “ahh that was your grandfather’s favorite dish”. So of course I ordered it.

Wise man. I order it almost every time I see it now.

I'll get a bunch of apples or peaches from the farmer's market, start eating them like candy. Before I know it I've sucked back a dozen. Gotta be careful not to poop myself in the elevator the next day.

beef, easier to find nice big beef shanks

i might put the osso buco on hold though and just get a butcher to cut some beef bones lengthwise so I can roast those babies and just slather the marrow all over some crostinis

then call my doctor next week and tell him to put me on statin

When I was in college I worked at a BP as a kitchen supervisor and practically lived off pizza for 3 years lol

Pizza or pasta 6 of 7 days a week with a fast food burger (ok, burgers is a more truthful word) once a week

Needless to say I got quick at eating pizza too

- Dozzer

We were so broke it was 50lb bags of potatoes and we made fries with a pot of oil on the stove and Franco American canned gravy. We nearly burned the residence townhouse down one night, but the fire extinguisher was close buy.
