I've not been so lucky.

But good news is I'm set to be an uncle come October, so we're super stoked about that.

My gf does this thing where she supplies a voiceover for her dog, having a pretend conversation with her. We're hanging out with her 3 year old niece and the niece says 'most dogs don't know how to talk - were did she learn that?'

Or, she has one of those huge stuffed leopards like you win at a carnival. The niece stops and stares at it and then asks 'is it real?'

Then when she has a meltdown at some point we hand here off to the parents and we're out the door.

Only took several decades to accomplish.
But its Toronto, so lets brag we won 1 round and pretty much got swept the next round.

I’m the same with steak tartare.

You don’t see it on a lot of Toronto menus, so it’s always a treat.

I’m heading to Montreal tomorrow, and it’s a lot more common there, so I’m pretty confident I’ll have it at least once this weekend.

You’re quite the traveler lately, eh?

The fact that these were even a thing is just a sad reflection on the state of the world.
Great scam though.

Ah kids are great.
Specially when you can hand them back after a short term interaction.

Gonna have 3 teenagers soon in the house, should be fun. My youngest is only 5 months away.

Most of my nieces and nephews are in their 60’s. I play these games with them too. So cute.

My son (he's 9) and I had multiple conversations about things we see teenagers do.

I basically told him that you become more dumb during your teenage years, it's part of growing up.

So he's trying really hard "not to become dumb" when he gets there.

did you talk to him about the long term effect of having you as his dad? You should prepare him...

I'm driving to Montreal today to drop my oldest off for 1st year McGill.

She's working this summer at the daycare at her old primary school (she attended the daycare a year before kindergarten).

So today I walked her to work - retracing my footsteps that I took 15 years ago with her.

Is someone chopping onions in here? WTF?

It's the joy of having only daughters.

I can do no wrong.

The mom? God bless her - everything she does is wrong. And embarrassing.

It’s a recipe from the New York Times which is all fake news.

Oh yeah, that would do it.

I have one story of my son when he was 3 that I can't even tell without bursting into tears. I will be a disaster when he moves out.

I'm not bragging about it, just observing that it's one of those quirks that one of the worst teams in the league won a playoff round.
