And this is why I hate Leafs Nation.
Kessel was the leading scorer every single year he was a Maple Leaf.
His main centre on the 1st line was Tyler Bozak.
But yeah, it was Phil's fault we didn't win a Stanley Cup. - Atomic Wedgie
Kessel was awesome. If he'd been more into the fitness and stuff he'd probably have been a HOFer. |

So you're saying the Habs are gonna trade Caulfield? - GreatGigInTheSky
Not for the next 8 years.
At least I hope not, just bought his jersey.

3 cups, ironman record, most hotdogs eaten while being an active player and best 40 goal scorer to never score 40 goals.
He may very well get in. |

Just reading that pricing scheme gives me the spins. - Zezel
In high school, we used to drink on Thursday nights at the Jolly Miller.
They sold beer in (iirc) 8 oz glasses - so you would order a tray of beer.
Each glass was $0.90, so they'd bring you a full tray, tell you how many they fit on the tray (it was never quite the same - I seem to recall it would be anywhere from 22-26 glasses), and you'd simply tip them 10 cents for every glass, plus maybe an extra buck or two. |

He's almost at 1000 points...if he'd got a couple hundred more and won the Conn Smythe that time when he should have won it he'd get in.

He was into fitness.
I can't find it now, but there was a tweet from Damien Cox at a Leafs training camp where he said that Kessel tested the highest of any player. |

I've got 2 that right after I got them, the Leafs either traded them or let them leave.
And I got a Marner St. Pats and then he decided to be a goof. I thought for sure I jinxed him out of town. |

They had a thing like that at a bar in my hometown. (frank)ing smashed, man.
I read about that bar in New York where the beer prices fluctuate based on supply and demand and they have a ticker like the stock market. That sounds like a fun gimmick to get hammered to.

Absolutely cracks me up that Phil (frank)ing hates hotdogs, but every time he wins the Cup, he fills the female dog with hotdogs as a giant (frank) you to Simmons. |

But was that just because he was one of those genetic freaks at the time, and that's why he fell off later in his career? I don't even know. But I read things about how if he'd been a psycho like Crosby or McKinnon he would be in that superstar echelon because of his talent.

Out of all the Leafs I've watched, Kessel was right up there for pure skill along with the Core 4, Sundin, Gilmour, Mogilny. In his prime he was great.

I don't think he hates them. According to people I know he did in fact frequent the street meat cart near the CBC building.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the cancer he had back in the day effected his testosterone levels.
Had he never had cancer, he'd more likely than not have remained in better physical shape. |

foufounes tuesday nights 5$ cover and 5$ pitchers was legendary - TheMussel
My buddy went to a dive bar in some poophole in Northern Ontario. He got three pitchers of "Cool" beer for 10 dollars. Worst beer he's ever had apparently. Doesn't remember the trip back to the cabin very well though. |

I read that if you lose a nut to cancer, you never lose the other one. Your body basically says no way man, not both. I don't know if that's true, but I hope it is.

Right?! Hotdogs are great. Mustard, Dijon mustard, onions. (frank)ing great.
Also chili dogs. And pulled pork dogs.
There's a hotdogs stand out in Oakville that serves you up a hotdog with a cut up sausage on top of it. It's fantastic. |
