Hell yeah fakesie. Gonna put some sour cream on those bastards too.
Savvy vet move: sour cream mixed with HP sauce tastes good.

Arguing with a buddy who is a Habs fan about Domi.
He told me Domi will be a 4th line plug or press box guy this year in Toronto.
I then looked up his stats on Hockey DB and was a bit surprised to see that in his first year in Montreal he scored 28 goals in 82 games and in his 2nd year 17 goals in 71 games.
I didn't know he scored that many in Montreal.
2 crap years in Columbus (they sucked though) and then 19 games with the Canes where he only scored twice.
Then off to Chicago where he scored 18 in 60 games and was traded to Dallas where we scored 2 goals in 20 games.
This tells me:
1. He doesn't get hurt much at all
2. Is not really a great TDL pick up - I guess needs time to settle in with a new team
3. Hated being in Columbus probably lol
4. Should score 20 goals with the Leafs - more for sure if he plays on L2 with JT and Willy or Mitch
The more I think about the potential starting line up on opening night the more I like it.
Tree has got the player who will bring the bumhole/pos play to 2 lines for sure with Bertuzzi and Domi.
Knies seems to have shown he can play a big body game and will fit in nicely and then the 4th line can grind and if necessary 'pull lawnmowers' and keep law and order.
Is it opening night yet? |

We'll obviously see this year - he's been a polarizing play in terms of how people on this board view him. He's not his Dad, but he'll fight in the right situation. He doesn't hit that often, but he gets amped up. He's not that defensively capable, but he's fast and can still play a supporting role.
The reason his production slipped in Montreal and why he was ultimately moved, I think, was that Claude Julien started to publicly make him a scapegoat - whether rightly or wrongly, I think it soured Domi to some degree. I think in the first year, Montreal was just coming off of a season where they had missed the playoffs by a country mile, but in Domi's first year the team looked good - they missed the playoffs by just a few points if I recall, and the next year they made the playoffs thanks to the play-in round - but that year they took a few steps back, too - with injuries and/or poorer performances from Gallagher, Drouin and Price coupled with an expected lack of progression from Kotkaniemi . . . ultimately it was a bit of a coalescence of these things that I think led to Domi getting criticized and playing worse - but which came first? I mostly recall, at the time, seeing Julien publicly calling Domi out - while ignoring other guys who were far worse - and thinking it seemed like a bad idea.
I have been of the opinion that Domi wants to be a star on a big stage and I think year one in Montreal demonstrated that. I hope he can step up here and show that he really is that guy.

Here's my predictions for the 4 major sports this season:
MLB - Jays
NFL - Ravens
NHL - Leafs
NBA - 76ers - Zezel
Jays are struggling mightily to make the wildcard. AL East has kicked the poop out of them this year. |

I had 3 Wendy's junior cheeseburgers, that's humbling in that it makes one aware of how fragile one really is.

Fair and I agree it could definitely be improved more than it has but to me HOLL out and Klinberg in is a positive but I'm hoping Tree does more on the back end still.

In reading this I though "Marchand Lite" to some degree, perhaps less offensively gifted (hence the light) but I do think Domi has that pest / annoy the poop out of the opposition to him just like the Boston Rat.

The AL East is (frank)ing up the plan and the terrible RISP has been the Achilles Heel. |
