The rest are late rounders.

2021, outside of Power, you have a Russian tied to the KHL for 4 years, a project KHL to AHL kid and the rest are later picks.

2022 is too early.

This is incredibly standard for the entire league. I don't understand the criticism here. Mid to late rounders usually take several years. We know this.

we had the cap space and assets to do better and try to make a push for a deep run instead of sneaking into 8th place

I see the point, we just don't know in reality if it was actually possible.

Could we have traded for these types of players? I suppose so. I know if I was there I'd be looking hard at some vet leaders with some tread left.

Terry fired Botts, brought in Adams who just continued Botts plan. This action alone lengthened the drought by 3+ years as a rookie GM was replaced with a guy who drove a GM.

Then Terry dissolved his wife's company and blamed the failure on her ideas.

Now Terry is the president....with exterior hype for success and a GM who's bet his career being patient.

Going to be a good winter gentlemen.

The reason I made the comment was because people on the outside think he's doing better than the people on the inside, as in us.

only point I'm making here is that just because most of Kevyn's picks after the first round haven't shown up yet doesn't mean they're bad or they won't.

Botterill deserves some credit for 2nd round and beyond for acquiring Thompson, drafting Samuelsson, and if you want to give him the wins for UPL, Bryson, Rousek and Joker, ok but he hasn't done all that much and his drafts are more than 4 years old at the very least. If you'd find it fair to make the arbitrary line at top 10 picks, Ryan Johnson certainly has some ability too.

Botterill hype is greater than the true return of asset.

I was referring to NJ for FA and trades.

I know Botts was garbage as the GM of the Sabres, Terry and Kim didn't help and he lacked vision for the NHL roster. I see Adams in the same light, it's been quiet as the Pegulas have been away, a lot can change once he enters the situation this season.

Draft hype is real, outsiders value draft position...which is dumb. The NHL success is from players acquired by the #9 ranked GM.
