No more Errey cringe commentary and jinxes. That's worth 5 pts in the standings alone.

How would Tatar fit from a salary cap perspective? Pens arent using LTIR for jake. Right now they are over the cap by $79k with 13 forwards, 7 D and 2 goalies. oconnor, nieto and nylander all make under $925k or less. pitlick is at $1.1M. Is Pitlik the odd man out if tatar would sign for $1M? I would like nylander with geno and move rust down to help that 3rd line from an offensive perspective. right now it still seems like the weight of the scoring pressure stays with the top 6 again. Would love to see:

Wouldn’t be the worst thing as long as nylander can contribute to that line in some way. Speed and forecheck and he could be geno’s dupuis. I would like to see a little more skill on that 3rd line to ease the burden of the top 6. But I don’t believe Tatar is going to be given a pto by us.

I was always pretty neutral on Steiggy until he was replaced with Mears and holy poop did I miss Steigy. I pretty much stopped watching the Pens the last two seasons because the roster, the broadcast.... everything was so vanilla.

I would LOVE for the ol 29er to be the color guy. He's actually interesting and has non-terrible opinions. Looking forward to this coming season.

Steigy was asbolutely brutal. Mears was such an upgrade. I can't stand Phil, dude is atrocious on the radio too. Hopefully they go with some younger fellas and not the dinosaurs.

My only opinion on Phil was that all of Aussie’s opinions came directly from Phil and all of his opinions sucked ass so I’m assuming Phil sucks ass.

The best part of the pre crosby early crosby era was listening to Mike and Phil get lit up on the radio. They barely called the games by the third and just told old hockey stories. Good times.

Don't know if swapping the radio guys is much of an upgrade. I like that Bourque is honest about what he's watching. I hate "homer" style broadcasters...always sugar coating things. I like Colby.

I can't really say. I never really heard the radio broadcast. Can't say I've listened to more than a few minutes of any game. If I'm not able to watch, I usually record and watch it later. I've just heard Bourque do an occasional interview. He's kind of blunt guy.....which I prefer over double talk and blather like Errey.

He is definitely blunt, which I do prefer over the other stuff, but I'll often go back and watch sequences he breaks down and I'm like what is this guy watching? Haha.

I didn't mind Mearsy that much, definitely thought he was better than Steigy. However, I always thought Errey sucked, like really bad.

I don't really like that analogy. Dupuis was questionable as a top six talent, but he added a lot as a defensive presence and puck retriever to balance that out.

Nylander is questionable as a top six talent, but while he's worked to improve a little defensively, he really doesn't add those kinds of intangibles.

If Nylander can provide some support scoring from the third line I'd be pretty happy.

Mears is bland, but Steigy was brutal at play by play. He couldn't even keep up with where the puck was. But he's been excellent on the radio doing pre and post game duties so if they want to bring him over for that I'd be for it.

Errey wore thin on me years ago. I could go for some fresh blood over Phil. I'd imagine Colby or Rupp would be decent.
