ahh I see, that's cool.

always wanted to try voice acting, it's probably harder than it seems but it looks fun, depending on the project you're working on.

- Pat1993

I would love to try my hand at voice acting too, but meh, since I don't have the FR accent fully nailed... And I noticed that they are reluctant to have accents, my big project of 2022, the English version was a 50 years old British guy (while the game takes place in the US, and that's part of his character) and French just hired a typical French guy who sounded like a dudebro in his mid 20s.

And it's cool...sometimes. Other times you're forced to work over 150 hours on crappy mobile games.

My current project I've spent maybe...250 hours on? And there's like 8 languages that our studio is checking. And I'm still finding some logic issues in one of the stories.

so I guess you work for a studio who's main focus is translating games?

also, 8 languages? sounds like a lot, what game is it? must be a big budget game.

Well, my part of the studio works on quality assurance and player support mostly but yeah, there's a bunch of satellite offices with different specialities.

9 languages - German, French, Spain Spanish, Latin America Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Polish, Russian, Italian - those are pretty much always the one that we do, sometimes we get a bit of Japanese, Chinese or Korean but for this project they kept it for another studio probably.

I can't tell you what the game is, NDA and stuff, but 9 languages is not that much of a stretch. It IS a big studio that typically has big budgets tho.

I took my PS3 and 19 games in to a game store today and got $170 store credit.

Any NES games to recommend? Or new games for either PS4 or XBox OneX? I’m looking to build up my Xbox games these days instead of PS4. Not a fan of RPG’s

Hahahaha! You’re lucky that you don’t. I was just trying to be funny.

I’ve never played the Nintendo Switch before, so I have no idea about the games and it’s functions

the last console I owned was a Super Nintendo lol, I'm more of a PC guy.

for NES recommendations, are you talking about buying the actual cartridges or are you using roms? there's a ton of good NES games I'd recommend, but sometimes the prices go insane for rarer ones.

not sure about its rarity but I always liked Shatterhand, very underrated imho.

I bought a Final Fantasy bundle on the PS4 recently, 1 through 6 remastered. I started with the first one, I must say, games really left you to figure things out on your own back then

I bought an original console a couple of months ago and I’m looking for cartridges. I’m going to buy 1942 as it’s only $25. I have some of my faves already, but looking for some gems out there.

Funny story, I bought my NES console and it was glitchy, as they usually are. Have to reinsert the cartridge over and over again etc..

So while I was moving to my new apartment I dropped the console and saved it by hackisacki g it. Gave me a monster goose egg on my shin and made my foot turn purple.

And my NES console has never worked better since. First try on all games work now!! 😂🤣

Absolutely!! They didn’t have those fancy magazines with all of the shortcuts in it, or especially YouTube!!!

Not to mention that you had to finish an 80hour game on 3 lives!!!

No wonder so many controllers have been busted over the years!! Lol

yeah, back then, magazines like Nintendo Power came in very handy to complete some particularly hard and non-intuitive games.

and Final Fantasy V is really good, I should replay that.

McDonalds released a new Game Boy color game, Grimace's Birthday... apparently you can put that poop on a game boy cartridge and it'll work just fine.

If you buy a switch, you could check "Sea of Stars", a turn based RPG game made by an Indie studio in Québec

You can even choose to put the game in Quebec French
