Are prospect pool has ranked out of the top 15 like once since 2012. There might not have been a lot of high end, but that happens when some of them go right to the Sabres and stop being considered prospects cause they considered elite. Adams has added a lot of young talent, but he didn't start from scratch.

Devils finished 2020 season with 68 points and had less ammunition - now a powerhouse with playoff experience

Panthers finished with 78

Both switched GM’s and they have turned around the roster with less in a reasonable time frame.

There are literal comps that can be used to measure Adams work so far.

2 #1 picks playing D. The ?'s at the position arent that big of a deal imo. The ? surrounding whether Donnie can implement some sort of defensive structure is the greater question imo

Just because there #1's doesn't mean you don't need to find the right players to play with them or whatever system Donnie installs. Took them 4 years to find Dahlin's somewhat partner. Still need to find Powers or it won't matter.

Tage Thompson was viewed as a "bust" at that time. Rousek was a 6th rounder. Johnson hadnt signed and was thought to be walking when he could.

Yes we had 2 good forward prospects a late first D and a early second D. Did not scream top prospect pool.

Hope you are right Boss, only help the Sabres. But in 2yrs 10mill could look like a tremendous steal for Dahlin at either 5 or 8 years. IMO you will be lucky to get him at 9 for either deal.

I'm not saying no one doesn't. It's a genuine question, they were 1 point out last season. Would the roster (that is so vibey they were all brought back) benefit more from playoff experience or adding one or both of those players to the roster?
