You could add any individual skater to that roster and it won't make a lick of difference because it's all system and the system is boring. It's also successful and has made the playoffs, but I just don't think anything on that roster or pipeline is going to come in and give a noticable difference compared to last year. If I'm an Islanders fan I'm very worried long term, present looks okay but the future just looks blah. - Zschalberg

Cause some of us have pointed out the fact that the off-season was slow and boring and nothing happened.
And then they throw in a name like Matt Duchene who wouldnt have come here anyways cause he wants to try to win a cup. - DirtyDan
Nobody wants to come here! Atleast who is worth a sh!t. That should ring some bells here. |
|
|
|
When KA acted like this following a 9th place finish in the east last year and then made minimal moves, he opened himself up to criticism.
Now the time for female doging is over as the games are upon us and we'll see if he was right to so |

He didnt want to go to 95% of teams. CAUSE HE WANTS THE CHNACE TO WIN A CUP

It is however an accomplishment to set the NHL record for consecutive playoff-less seasons. That's tough to do - Hank Balling
Canes and Panthers were the most recent teams to set that record prior to the Sabres eclipsing it.
Both the Panthers and Canes just played each other in the ECF.
Doubt anyone thinks about their playoff drought streaks anymore. |

Well we should hope the Conservative route works. Not good if he needs a second surgery on the same shoulder. - Buff36
He’s gonna need that surgery and they will extend recovery a month by trying to avoid it, book it!

Thats not a bad thing.... Better to try and see if they dont need to do the surgery before actually needing it. |

Fantastic rant that pretty much could have been Covered with Hope and Potential and we still have No idea if we are even a playoff team. - Buff36
And we won’t know that for 4-5 months.
Have a bong and some brown liquor in the meantime and relax.
What’s the use of losing your mind everyday on here trying to answer questions that can only be answered by playing the games ? |

They might be the toughest team to spot in our division, and that's saying something because Buffalo and Detroit are in this division. I thought they would finish ahead of the Sabres last year and they didn't. If anything they're the poster child of people saying trading for these big names doesn't solve all problems.
Offensively I think they should be a pretty decent team assuming Tarasenko is back to who we remember. Defense doesn't have a ton of stars but good players and Korpo as starter is league average which is what you need at minimum. I could easily see them being a wild card team if they put it together but I could just as easily see them stumbling out of the gate and making smart asset decisions by mid season. I think the Sabres finish above them but could be closer than we like. They were basically middle of the pack in both GF and GA last season and I expect around the same if I had to put money on it |

Florida set the 10-year record between 2000 and 2011 which has nothing to do with last year, and #2 was EDM also with a 10 year between 06-17.
Either way, it doesn't really matter, the point is that Adams chose to do very little and now we're about to see if he was right to do so |

And the Sabres are on 95% players No go list. He's not the only one that doesn't want to come to Buffalo. We aren't ready in a lot of players Eye's, atleast yet. |

I saw a team that went 7-2-1 down the stretch and both losses in regulation they outplayed both Florida and New Jersey and it’s just how the cookie crumbled.
I see a team that improved this offseason while the rest of the Atlantic playoff teams lost a considerable amount of talent.
Did Detroit do enough to bridge a 12 point gap? Activity doesn’t necessarily mean results either.
Ottawa you can make a case for but they have more than enough of their own question marks.
Generally speaking your top end talent will carry the team, I believe in the top end talent.
Simple as that

If in 2-3 years we're all talking about how good Kulich looks and whether Savoie and Benson can split the Calder in half and Levi pans out then it's all worth it. At this point Adam's fate is in the hands of those kids |

😂 that has 1.4 million views - washedup20
More views than the entire NHL offseason had. Cause beyond the play, the NHL sucks.
8 year contracts, NTC's, NMC's, no movement on cap space. Teams that have never made a dollar still in the league... could go on and on |

Disagree entirely, I believe a management group that bends to this approach by a player or agent is not equipped to handle their role.
Sacrificing the roster to appease a player, specifically a rookie, who is not a generational talent is bad management. - washedup20
They just went through this Levi ….. they wanted a PTO tryout contract and have him go on a playoff run with Rochester.
He wanted to be in the nhl and burn a year.
The college player wins that battle 99% of time or else they pull a Jimmy vesey and leave the team that drafted him.
You are definitely wrong about this |

It's also a team whose coach decided UPL, Olofsson and Bryson were unplayable down the stretch.
All are still on the team, and some are in larger roles. There are valid questions to ask about whether the requisite moves were made. We're about to find out. |

I would Chabot and Sanderson have star potential.
The rest I agree with.
