I don't anybody who knows what's going on really think the Pegulas are cheap. The difference between the Bills and the Sabres is that the Bills operate in a league that mandates its owners simply write checks and let the adults do their jobs (unless you're Jerry Jones). The NHL has no such mandate. It lets owners like Pegula treat the franchise like a toy, and the result is the same as when you let a toddler throw things around long enough. - buffalofan19

The Bills stand first in the NFL in cash spending as of the opening week of the season, with a total of $288.9 million committed to players for the season, according to the sports financial website

Pegulas turned the Bill's around pretty quickly, I'm confident they turn the Sabres around.
Some posters including jcrags think the pegulas are cheap and base every move around money.
I do not feel that way, as were near the cap with the Sabres contacts ..... this season.....

They're neither cheap nor philanthropic. Obv the Sabres aren't a cap floor team anymore, while they were, they didn't do everything they could to make the team better for the future. I still hold Pegs liable for not letting Adams acquire cap dumps for draft picks. There was no reason for our billionaire owner not to do that. I don't buy that Adams didn't want to make those kind of trades.

the bills are blessed with decent football minds
the sabres have gone with 3 gm's that had no experience as being former nhl gms
2 rookie head coaches and a guy who left the league after being fired after 1 year and ran a soccer franchise for 5 years before coming back to coach the nhl

Some owners just want to avoid cap dump shenanigans.
Fortune favors the bold and if a cap dump scares them, we're in trouble with the new president in town.
I like the top3 GM tag though, that'll curl some toes. - QuinnFan
Not for Quinn:
If your Achilles tendon tears, you may hear a snapping or popping noise when it happens. You could have bruising and swelling, too. You also may have trouble pointing your toes and pushing off your toes when you take a step.

Really? Could've fooled me. Only ahead of Chicago because of Kane and Toews' expiring deals and not re-signing either of them.
And I bet the new TV Deal in the NFL covered every expense this year for Pegula. I mean he just got a check for 425 million from the NFL for part of his share of the deal. Over the next decade Pegula will receive 2.39Billion from his share.
Edit: Sorry I was of a Billion and half Pegula will be getting 3.9 Billion over the next decade. Pegula is gonna get a check for like 300mill a year from the NFL for the Next decade.
