no idea. kev said himself it was too much. he had a small segment on it talking about if the replacements are as good as what we have now then what are we doing.

then of course the real upgrades (like Hellebuyck) are too expensive for everyone.

We can establish a decent argument without hyperbole. I think a lot of people, myself included, expected a move and were stunned when nothing was done. The doubt in the goalie tandem is allowed to be scrutinized because of a combination of age, inexperience and lack of results.

I'll be interested to see if Eric Comrie can win the backup job by outplaying UPL in the pre-season, or whether UPL is simply given the job due to his organizational standing

Hinging the season on questionable goaltending and justifying it due to the cost of acquisition doesn't equate to the cost of another losing season.

There must be no pressure, or Adams bet his future on Levi, that's how I view it.

I would be ok if tatar and duchene were keeping the kids down one more year

I am not ok when it's olofsson, yost , greenway or girgens keeping them down

and before anyone scream jost or girgens is playing 4th line, you could slide greenway or krebs into those 4th line spots

every guy is different. you draft a guy for what he will become, not what he is. some guys don't have the strength to compete today, but will dominate with physical growth in the years to come.

number 1 or 2 pick, yeah, you're drafting for right now. After maybe 2 or 3, some may take 2-4 years. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, except for baseless expectations.

no he doesn't. inconsistent year to year but last year he was really good. Everyone wants the playoffs, but if guys like, say, Hellebuyck don't want to come back, they're taking the risk of losing him for nothing, trying to make the playoffs and getting a 25 cents on the dollar return at the tdl, or nothing at all then after.. vs getting maybe 75-80% of his actual value over the summer. Good luck I guess.
