1)I'd like a power winger myself. A big, fast, guy who can bang in 20-25 G's and who enjoys engaging in the physical game.
2) a definitive 2RhD who can skate well and is on the tall side for reach. A guy, who plays a reliable D game and is solid on the PK. This remains my #1 want.
I wouldn't mind also landing a 1B G, but in the $3-$4m range. If Logan Thompson is truly available, he could be a target. - IonSabres
Maybe the meatball whisperer sees that in Greenway. I didnt see it last year but donnie has proved many of us wrong before.
Think they were hoping for #2 but if that didnt happen they would be happy with clifton.
I mean with all these projections for Power to be a 9mil player, i would think he would be able to shape almost any serviceable defended into a decent top4.

Good wants, what do you think the cost to acquire those pieces would be? Without disturbing the existing $8.7mm cap space, how would you fit these players into the cap? - washedup20
Now? Difficult to address all three, not impossible but it would require a couple Cap dumps in Olo and Joker. I'm not sure any team would take them in a package...probably doubful for Olo..maybe ok with Joker.
As with most fans, I like Benson, Savoie and Kulich..so I would prefer not to include them.
The preferred Assets include:
'24 & '25 1sts are in play
Rousek, Rosen, Ostlund, R Johnson (reluctantly)
Krebs, UPL, Olo, Joker
Others could be considered depending on the mix. For example, if I could secure a Tuch clone at Power Forward or a Shea Theodore at D then I'd be willing to include Mitts..but then that offsets a Pick and Prospect.

Yes, however to get into the playoffs the Panthers were carried by Lyon who won 6 out of last 7 games in the regular season...just after Bob poop the bed with the previous 3 games losing streak.
Mind you, the Panters don't get in without his performance to end the season with a .857 win percentage ... all will being paid $9,250,000 LESS than Bob.
The Prosecuter rests his case. - IonSabres
Bob poop the bed, and his pants, as he had a nasty flu bug he was trying to play through that 3 game slide. All hail the Lyon King for getting hot and keeping the roll going. But without Bob’s strong play from January 2 up until he caught the crunge Lyon’s hot streak would have been totally irrelevant.
Edit; this is not meant as an endorsement for paying a goalie $10 million per year.

I like this approach, and agree with the names you mentioned. Of the bolded though I would move Savoie to close the deal for a power forward or 2RD.

The Sabres are closer in roster design to Florida than Vegas, adding Hellybuck allows them to continue to run and gun. a $10mm price is worth it IMO for a goalie who compliments the teams strengths.

And it is likely that any discussion so far have had Savoie as a sticky point. I think fans are going to love him, but he also needs time to develop.
The Rule of JR or NHL is stupid for the players' sake.
I'd love for the Sabres to keep him as 13F and rotate him in to get him used to the speed of the game.

FL last year with Mo as their new coach the whole focus was being more defensively responsible, and not being as much run and gun. Even a $10 million goalie needs support from the team in front of him. Sucky Bob was often the result of being hung out to dry and him trying to be the goalie version of Superman.

Good point, the sabres are still closer design to the panthers president trophy season.
After they got bodied in the playoffs, the focus turned to infuse grit and toughness, while changing the coach and system. Only then they traded elite skill for elite power forward.
It's a copy cat league why should the sabres wait for that situation, to me the current plan is leading them there.

Yeah, Stripes had the best idea of keeping a few of them up and extending their 9 games until Quinn is healthy.

So even good goaltenders can struggle when there's no defensive structure in front of them? That's interesting. (this is not directed at you Ratsy)
