Maybe we should find out if Samuelsson can actually stay healthy for a whole season before relying on him to make our defense whole. I like him but ffs
I can not understand the logic behind pretending there aren't upgrades to be made all over this roster - ieetbred

Joker + Dahlin opening night would not be a complete surprise.
I've wanted to move him for years, but he's still here. - Lunaion
he was still playing over 21 minutes a night for the last 2 months of the season |

He puts himself out of position and makes too many mystifying decisions to hope he can correct all of that. - kingcong39
Probably, but I am basically looking at internal options. We hope Clifton can step up, but still a ? mark on that. Basically really have nothing else ready at this point. |

It's hard to imagine they signed Johnson to play on third pair with Joker.

Would it shock you to learn that Dahlin's underlying numbers are better with most other Sabre defensemen, including Joker?

Did you have, Joker will be a year older so he will be better in your equation when checking the numbers?

Well, Peterka hasn't set the world on fire, yet he's still very young...the comments that Peca made about him being a unicorn still sticks in my mind.
I am hopeful he will be a long termer here playing 3rd or 2nd line minutes. |

So is Kulich a C at the next Level. With the way Kozak is developing you might just have your 3C and 4C of the future already in the Organization. Krebs and Mitts could be some decent pieces to dangle for another needed (2/3 RD) piece. Might be weird but kinda excited to see how Adams fits the pieces together next year. I have a feeling Adams will have some nice Ammunition to address a need. Not that he really hasn't had the assets to do it the last 2 years. But don't think he will have a choice this time around. |

Breakout candidates for this season per the Athletic:
Clifton:
"There will be challenges for Clifton. He needs to defend more consistently and while he was strong in a bottom pair role for Boston, there’s always the question of how a player will adjust when he’s no longer sheltered, especially when moving away from one of the best teams in the NHL last season. But Clifton should have the skating and puck-moving chops to handle more responsibility. It’s also worth noting that he played really well in a top pair role alongside Hampus Lindholm at the start of the year when Charlie McAvoy was hurt."
Peterka:
"will be a critical top-six contributor for the Sabres, playing on Dylan Cozens’ line. He should see a decent bump from the 13:39 he averaged per game last season, especially because of Jack Quinn’s injury."
Is there another team with so many question marks that also has the hype Buffalo does? |

I believe they need another Tuch at forward, or Tuch like, to be fulfilled at forward as an organization.
No easy feat finding one, but it's a big time need now and long term IMO. |

If you’re betting on Week 3 of the NFL or play fantasy, you’ll want to bookmark this.
Here are some notes from last week which you should think about…
🧵👇🏼
Zach Wilson is still trash.
Only 43% of Garrett Wilson's targets were catchable in Week 2, which is a league low for WR with 5+ targets.
Zach is 32nd in QB accuracy this season and is basically killing any hope of Garrett being a top-10 receiver this year.

Well it looks to me at this point they are hoping Donnie beat the table for the right guy. Wish Nadeau had better feet, he still really needs to work on his skating and edge work. He's got the hands to be it somewhat, just doesn't have the skating. |

Yeah, I believe that's where Clifton got his 17 games last year playing over 19mins. If he can handle it and if Joker can show some consistency at a lower minutes say 17 would go along way in shoring up that back 6 |

It is clear that the Front Office does not place as much value on size and related physicality than other attributes which are fairly common in their actual selections.
Wahlberg might be the guy they think has a chance to possess some of that...although his skating needs work to realize the hope.

I've had 8 knee surgeries.
The problem is orthopedic surgeries don't always fix a problem entirely and sometimes they can create other problems. Like one of my surgeries was to remove the screws from my leg from the ACL graft. They were "bioabsorbable" except my body said "lol, no" and they caused immense bone pain. A few were just a "clean up" of pieces of what was left of my meniscus that started to flake off, scrape some bone to clean it off. Sh¡t like that. - Wetbandit1
Jeeeezus, y'all are tougher than me. I'd be asking if they can't just take it above the joint and be done with it. Think more is to come? Or you through the worst now? I would be curious if it's degenerative in the sense that it will be ongoing or not. |

Decent reed on Krebs. He also makes the point I was trying to make the other day in that the Sabres org is bereft of defensive-able forwards. This year is a make or break for Krebs, I think, in terms of how the org will utilize him during his career in Buffalo. Do they want him to be shutdown (4th line) or checking with offense (3rd line)? I don't think they need to really shoehorn him on the top 2 as those are covered for the next 8 years.
https://www.expectedbuffa...ton-krebs-buffalo-sabres/
Make or break is probably bad phrasing. More like guiding him down one of the paths depending on how he is able to drive offense with his passing skills. |

I'm pretty excited about Walberg. If He Hits©, you've got a strong power forward who can play bottom 6 center minutes and middle 6 wing minutes in a Jordan Greenway role.
