interesting NY Post article, Garth Snow, says in 2014 all his scouts wanted Ehlers, he overroad them and took Dal Colle, because he had such a bad relationship with Nino Neiderreiter's agent who was also Ehler's agent
- jimbro83

He said that to a reporter

We have to say we like Filip Chytil from the New York Rangers a lot. He's very good two-way center & we believe he has a potential to have a break-out season this year. He just needs higher TOI. In two, three years he could be the best center on the Rangers.

He must be looking to get another job because he's done several interviews over the last month and defended/made excuses for Tavares and a lot of the other dumb poop he did.

Ironically saying you passed on a significantly better player because of issues with another pick you completely mishandled probably isn't the best way to land a job

I'm excited about Chytil this season

I think Mike Peca on that staff is going to help with the faceoffs

Chytil gonna be a 30/30 guy this year if he can manage to stay healthy, which has been a bit of an issue too

I don't know what the correct answer is

listen to the scouts or don't

because Gorton listened to his chief European scout pleading with him to take Lias Andersson, and I am sure it was the same with Kravtsov

I wonder if it relates to the talent he faces on the ice.

It's how hard his role is. Like he's not out their vs #1 d-men, important defensive zone faceoffs, the penalty kill etc.

To be fair, or pile on, that's been a thing for the Rangers for a while. They have had multiple goalies in the pipeline at one time. I just don't get the thought process.

I have no problem with them being on the lookout for more decent tenders to add to the pipeline. But, no one will ever be able to make me see the logic behind wasting a 2nd round pick on a goalie ranked outside the top 75 players.

Especially the Christmas movies.
