yeah, I wouldn't bet on them making the playoffs but I think they'll be in the mix for most of the season if they're healthy...

3 spots higher than last year would be rather disappointing for an "improvement".

if they continue to get better as slowly as you're implying, by the time they become competitive Suzuki and Caufield will be close to retirement lol.

Somewhere 23-26 range.

I also don't expect Montembeault to be above 0.900 again, so, balance.
- jugkope

not impossible, but I don't see it. he was 13th last season for goals saved, and if the defense improves in front of him (as it should) it will only be easier for him. 13th, that's pretty darn good considering the team he had in front of him.

no, but even them are not done improving. they'll peak in a few years.

yeah, I wasn't being serious lol, it was an exaggeration just to highlight that I think they'll evolve much quicker as a team.

tu peux tirer sur une fleur, elle ne poussera pas plus vite.
only time and reps will make these kids improve. half their future core is not even on the team yet! lol

we see things differently yet again, all is well.

I don't expect them to become bonafide cup contenders all that quickly, but I don't think they'll remain bottom feeders for very long, once they start making the playoffs they'll still have a learning curve in front of them in order to have success as a team during the post-season.

Just being realistic... Any improvements we see will largely be driven by improvements by the kids, and secondarily, less injuries.

Of the teams that finished ahead of them, how many of them are the Habs goign to surpass:

- Nashville Predators
- Pittsburgh Penguins
- Buffalo Sabres
- Ottawa Senators
- Vancouver Canucks
- St. Louis Blues
- Washington Capitals
- Detroit Red Wings
- Philadelphia Flyers
- Arizona Coyotes

Maybe 2, 3 or 4?

I think 23 to 26 is a realistic number for this upcoming season.

meh, the teams you listed aren't necessarily powerhouses either, a lot of them could be having some significant struggles. we'll see how it unfolds...

but in that blogger's defense, it's waterboy, so...

Wasn’t it that Sadella guy he had a beef with and then the blogger had a complete meltdown ??? 😂🤣

Still puts them in the 23-26 range.

A long way to go on this rebuild, regardless of how well it has gone so far.

I expect Kova to keep getting more points a season than Armia.

I dunno about a meltdown, but one kind of funny moment that I do remember though is when he explained in his blog how the Gordie Howe hat trick was named after Gordie Howe...

1) I thought that was EK

2) Gordie Howe only ever had 2 Gordie Howe hat-trick;' Rick Tocchet with 18 and Brendan Shanahan with 17 have the most.

1) perhaps I'm mistaken, it does sound like a very Ek-like thing to do.

2) I'm aware yes, the hat trick should be named something different, Gordie simply isn't worthy.
