I think you're just jealous because you probably have a Crapple iPhone. At least I can drop my Galaxy in Pickle Lake and stick it in a bowl of rice and all is well.

I dont think you need to put in rice.

Secondary assist count as much as open net goals....or powerplay goals
- Fakepartofme

Goals - yup you actually put a puck in the net.

Power Play Goals - ibid

Secondary assist in my opinion are chintzy majority of the time. It’s why they weren’t counted or cared about for a long time. But again man that just like my opinion.

…the league says they count the same but that doesn’t mean there aren’t scouts and folks in the hockey world that disagree.

I can think of plenty of plays where the secondary assist was amazing - it was secondary because the actual goal was scored on a deflection, or rebound, but the secondary assist set the whole thing up.

Guys that get a ton of secondary assists are the guys who set everything up. They’re the ones controlling that play. I don’t think there’s any difference between primary and secondary…

I agree. If there wasn't a secondary assist, the peep who usually did the work would come away empty handed. Hence why there is a secondary assist in the first place...

Yup. Made a few mistakes in the field, but at the bat they have been way above expected.

Ya man absolute! That’s why I said most times or majority I can’t remember what word I used but ya for sure. That’s actually one of the scenarios I was thinking of when I was saying that there are some nice ones for sure. That and I’ve seen a lot of plays where the player in neutral just out of the blue makes a beauty chip pass to tue mid ice for a guy to pick up - also good ones. My overall thought though was that I would most in my opinion are not worthy of an apple to me you know.

What about the goalie who made the huge save and the dman who seats the rebound to a guy who shovels it ahead then to another - pass them goal.

The goalie and dman deserve the apple more than the guy who just pushed it to a guy a foot infront of him.

I get all sides and I understand they count them - I’m just saying that I don’t respect the majority of them and I know scouts and such do not as well. They count - just not as ‘impact plays’ in their books

Come on man - so Willy standing still gets a pass from Gio - it bounces off his blade and pops out to centre - Marner outraces a guy to get possession skates in on 2on1 with 34 feeds a beauty sauce for a snipe…Willys play was more impactful on that scene - a scene that happens so very often in hockey (or something very very similar).

Marners play in that would be an impact play not Willy. Hockey folks watching that wouldn’t even write down the number 88 they would tick boxes and make comments on 16/34 sheets

Sometimes there’s own goals.

But the last guy to touch the puck for that team gets credited for the goal.

It’ll never be a perfect system.

That’s a pretty random event and doesn’t happen that often though.
Anyways man I get the push back on this for sure - just don’t value them as much and I think it weeds out some of the points certain players get that inflated their totals and puts them in a bracket with other guys that impact the game way more on a different level.

…This other dude in here is still not banned eh!? Christ.
