Matthews Marner Bertuzzi

PP2

Nylander Tavares Domi

Look okay?

Klinkberg Rielly for sure on D. throw in Lilly or McCabe and maybe a forward plays the point and makes room for Knies?

Are you thinking of Bryan McCabe?

Good, because Jake McCabe averaged 8 seconds of power play time per game last year (actual stat).

So Bryan McCabe would probably be a better idea on this year's power play than Jake McCabe.

And I still have my autographed Bryan McCabe jersey, so it just gets better and better.

He's definitely there to augment the offensive contributions from the backend though I've heard his defensive game is sub par. I think you're right he's definitely here to be on the PP cause from what I've read on him, the pk isn't his Forte.

(please don't ask why I typed all that out and only used one comma at the end)

Meh punctuation online isn’t something worth complaining about;’!

And yeah, from what I’ve read he started off decently as a two way guy, but held out last year and signed for one at around $7 mill thinking he’d prove his overall value and get more this year. Apparently the question mark of his game got worse hence why Toronto nabbed him at his current price. Here’s hoping he plays at least a decent defensive game, not their PK guy but can hold his own.

Hope it works out. Man I wish we could have found a way to keep Schenn.

I'm more posting it because someone whose opinion actually carries some weight agreed with me word for word, that a Bruins fan tried to mock.

Ya but knies is way off.
Mcd is by far the best overall player in the league.
Am the best goal scorer.

I (frank)ed words up.

I said all around and goofed it, thinking Knies said that. And that's a true statement.

Would have been nice, or at least someone who plays the stay at home physical game if not him

McDavid is Mario Lemieux, but faster and with no cups.

Edmonton is pissing away a generational player because they refuse to acquire a true #1 goalie. Any game McDavid played in front of guys like Mike F-ing Smith is a game wasted. At least have the decency to trade him the (frank) out of there.

That’s why I thought the Peeke interest (rumour) would be a good deal for you guys - not as physical as Schenn but stay at home and definitely on the physical side

I’m guessing the physical side of their d will be something addressed as the season goes on. No satisfying deal out there as of yet kind of approach.

I think so ya. The kid from Ducks plays a physical game but not sure his skill sets outside that can develop enough to be an 82 gamer you know.

I think McCabe does a decent job when needed gio as well (sorta) - but aside from that crickets on that side of the game back there for sure eh

Very different. McDavid is all speed all the time that’s what makes him great. 66 was unreal great when healthy but man he dissected players, went through them. He was deceiving quick when you saw him live.
He went north south east and west up ice! Man he was great to watch.

As an aside to that point I do miss that element that the no red took away. It’s all one pass quick up - nobody coast to coast and/or quick touch passes give and go up ice anymore. It’s such a faster game now for sure but sometimes I’m not sure that’s a great thing in my opinion. Super impressive though these kids speed/skill combo though for sure there

IMO 34 is more like 66. Big centres with a 200 foot game whilst McD is more like 99... absurd offence but not the best defensively.

McJesus is the most impactful, fastest, and offensively dominant player in the NHL - so best player.

Matthews is 100% the best 2way player in the world and I think that’s what Knies meant there. He plays both sides of the puck unreal great. I agree with his comments all day.

Players cost too much money during the season so they’re not given the rope to be overly physical, come playoff time tho….

For sure - for a team up against the cap (as contenders typically are I would imagine) they need that flexible contract/player.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but to me I would look to bolster net at this point. Im not a huge fan of Sammy. Played well last year but I just think he didn’t make those cliche timely saves at the right time round 2 then was hurt. He has the potential to be an nhl legit starter but to me hasn’t shown it fully.
