I do think penalties should be increased if more crimes are committed after convictions though.

It sure is your opinion and you are definitely entitled to it and I wasn't insinuating that you needed to be shy about voicing it nor that you needed anyone to agree or "co-sign" on it.

That being said it's MY opinion that it's not enough for a rape that reportedly was violent but the 'punishment' for rape (actually only called Sexual Assault in Canada) in the USA seems to vary state to state in the US. It also varies in Canada as here there are levels or classifications of sexual assault based on other elements (injury or no-injury, age of victim etc.) that it's pretty hard to say what a hard and fast minimum sentence would / should be.

IMO it's a crime that is such so opposite of what is morally right and at the opposite end of a standard a decent person in a civilized society should live by it's reprehensible.

Anyhow he got a long sentence, he will appeal and get a break on time served I'm sure but he'll go to jail and unless he is in protective custody all the time he will get some jailhouse justice I would guess.

No. Stats are pretty firm. Most elite players achieve peak performance level in the 24-28 age range. Not many exceptions (like Joe Pavelski). A teams success is often conditioned by their being able to take advantage of their competitive window.

Washington and Pittsburgh have great rosters. Not that far removed from Stanley Cup contention. The only change from elite status to non playoff status is age.

He was given two 15 year sentences as he was convicted of two separate crimes. 15 years is high as most rapes end up around 6-8 years. A bunch of aggravating factors pushed the verdict higher - the fact that he was a multiple offender (an additional victim from Toronto testified about being raped by him), the pressure campaign he helped orchestrate to get her family and leaders in Scientology to pressure her to drop charges, the severity of the rapes, the use of drugs on the women, lack of remorse, etc. The judge could have have the two sentences run concurrently to essentially reduce it to 15 but decided against it.
