I think the bolded get sent to the Marlies because they both can be sent to the AHL without losing them and the first call ups for injured forward.

Didn't Holmberg sign a new contract?

Makes sense. Robertson time is about here. Hope somehow he makes the team, he's either a keeper or we need to move on.

I really wanna see a healthy Robertson take off with the Leafs.

I seen't a clip of him boxing/training from the off-season, and he looks like he's in fantastic shape after his injury.

for me Robertson needs to stay healthy but needs to play for the Marlies as he's missed so much time with his injuries.

Health is the biggest question among many. While I don't disagree with you, I would be of that line of thinking mid-season, but he's going to have a lot of time to get in game shape and slowly up to speed with the rest of the league so if he earns it I wouldn't be against it. As long as he's playing and not on the 4th line or on the bench.

Robertson has been placed on the IR this summer again and even Luke Fox of Sportsnet is predicting he’ll start with the Marlies since he hasn’t even played a game since last December. He’s also one of the few waiver exempt players. He suggested we will see him but not likely til mid season.

Just IR not LTIR, I’m guessing it has more to do with the contractual paperwork the leafs have to deal with more than anything tho.

I won’t be 100% sure he doesn’t make the team myself but I have a funny feeling he’ll need to have one hell of a preseason to do so.

I can see it. Happened last season already. He was great in preseason.

Depends on how they approach lowering the cap by $2,943,950 tho. The guys who don’t need to clear waivers might stand next to no chance. Especially for him who’s a top 6 guy who is behind Knies (the one waiver exempt guy who likely won’t have to worry). The third line is your suggestion I get it but they’re the primary defensive line as well (typically anyways), is that how Robertson should be used?

Crazy. Was checking about salary cup stuff and such and we're about 3 million over the cap with 23 players. Sens have about 900k in space with 18 players. Yet people say we're (frank)ed cap wise (and we are lol).
- systemtool

It’s actually 24 players since they’re counting Robertson in that total.

So wouldn't that make it so that he needs to clear waivers to be sent down?

He was arguably the best player all last preseason for the Leafs and contract limit still pushed him to the Marlies.

It’s one of those hiccups that has changed the nhl in a way that means the players with the best preseason aren’t always going to make the team. The administrative approach the cap requires sometimes simply means more than skill. An unfortunate nuisance for the wealthier clubs and their fans.

You should try becoming a Blue Jays fan so you can get your existential despair into game shape by the time hockey starts.

it's like cricket for me - just can't understand that anyone can watch this for hours and hours...

then again I'm watching Ronnie O'Sullivan for hours and hours...

that's probably a tie

Ok, you’re one step up from darts. I spent the last hour gorging on Martin Short videos. Someone wrote an article saying he isn’t funny and Twitter pretty much proved him wrong. This is one of my favourites.
