Comment follow up from last blog (ok more of a statement but it's just my opinionated one).
Nylander will not be traded during this season unless the Leafs are far from a playoff spot AND they (Tree) feels there is no way the 2 sides will come to an agreement on a deal.
The concept of 'trade him in season for other good stuff, or prospects/picks etc.' just seems very far fetched at this point considering if they wanted to do that they had this entire off season to do so. It feels more like something those who don't really like him as a player hope for but it's highly unlikely to happen.
I'll even predict he stays in Toronto. Full stop - no prediction on the contract value or term as it's just too hard to pin down. I do really think he stays here and once that deal is done we can all digest it and decide if we like it or hate it, that's going to be my approach - I'd like to keep him but not overpay for what he brings.
Guess we will see - at least we are closing in on hockey starting up again! - Cush29
Willie will be traded if the talent that comes in fills some needs and if he is not willing to come off his ridiculous apparent ask of 10m+.
Or there will be a sign and trade in the off season.
He wont walk for free unless the leafs win the cup at which point no one will care anyway

Only by other team fanbases who are either too stupid to have the whole story / or to acknowledge the fact there was an equally large group chanting that they wanted Boston.
It shouldn't be surprising though since Leafs Nation lives rent free in most other teams fans heads 24/7/365.
At least no Canadian Team fanbase has ever had full on riots, burning cars and whatnot....oh wait nevermind. - Cush29
Most were chanting we want Florida.
And it blew up in the face. Its headshake worthy and a little funny
But very leafy

Love dem Boys but Dak did not look great - jribout
Yeah, but you can half explain it with the running game working well (Pollard looked in great shape) and the defense obliterating the Giants so they didn't need to force many plays.
He'll need to do better if they are to compete though. For sure.

I am hoping it is because he played 0 snaps in preseason and did not get into a rhythm because of the reasons you mentioned running game and defense
