Hindsight and all of that noise but, yeah, he is definitely not producing the numbers he is capable of.

The weird thing is that a good deal of his underlying numbers are as good as ever... but something is decidedly off.

I wonder if those Russian players worry about getting conscripted while they are back home visiting family and friends? I saw some photos of him visiting different places back in Russia this summer and I wondered WTF he thinks about the war and everything that is going on. It's gotta be complicated for the Russian players, because they have easy access to worldwide media reporting, so the reality of what Putin's regime is doing is available to them. Their families and friends back home are much more limited in the types of news they consume. Do they all just not talk about it and pretend it's not happening or ??

I understand why they don't take public stances on the war. And I guess their elevated status, wealth, and influence will insulate them from the draft. But, I'd still be worried in the back of my mind until my return flight took off back for Canada or the states.
