Agreed. Start with Pionk ....and there is little doubt that Nate Schmidt is not too far behind. Bring in some new blood, or give some playing time to Chisholm and Capobianco until Heinola gets back from injury.

I think Schmidt is headed for a buyout next summer.

His cap hit if bought out is $2.7M in 24-25 and $1.6M in the 25-26 season, if he is indeed bought out the Jets will have $5.4M in dead cap space in the 24-25 season with Schmidt and Wheeler's buyout cap hits.

$5.4M of dead cap will be pretty painful with those awful extensions for Hellebuyck and Scheifele kicking in.

I think Schmidt would top my list..... he doesn't bring much of anything to the game anymore. Pionk is not far behind but I would flip them starting with Schmidt..... couple of bad contracts there.... ouch

Was at the Moose game Friday..... Luscious stood out imop, was engaged, didn't float, hard in on the puck, hard back the other way..... skated hard.... no slacking off

Lambert showed some flashes of speed and skill.... both looked like they are more adjusted to AHL this year so we will watch going forward

Anyways, the Jets special teams really suck and need an overhaul, that defense needs some upgrades too!

Edit: The league punishing Ottawa for the Dadonov trade list thing is a total joke, the NHL looks so very Mickey Mouse from that situation, the league has to approve all trades, how is a guys trade protection list not confirmed before the trade is finalized AND how does it take almost two years to settle the whole thing ffs?!?!!

Also they didn't give McAvoy or R.Andersson nearly enough for their dirty hits, both should've gotten more then four games.

4 lines contributing is a treat after numerous years of spent plugs on the 4th line, this version is looking good and rounds off this team!
