Need to sweep the yankees - Fakepartofme
Not true.
Astros, Mariners and Rangers all play each other multiple times.
.500 baseball could get this team in. |

but i honestly couldn't think of a single ontario boy who plays for the caps so I went super off the board and went with Al Iafrate - TheMussel

Today's Puckdoku sucks.
I don't follow any of these teams or the OHL.
I'm staring at it now in another browser tab, and I can't think of a single answer right offhand...
Edit : Matt Duchene. I got one.
Edit : Jack Johnson. Make that two.
Edit : Pulled Tomas Vokoun out of my ass. That makes three.
Edit : Took wild shots at the OHL players and got lucky on Richard Panik and Adam Foote.
Did better than I thought I would.

Well if they can't win 2 or 3 out of 6 against their likely opponent in TB then they don't deserve to get in anyways. |

Yeah, Seattle has 3 against Oakland, 3 against Houston and 7 against Texas.
Texas has 3 against Boston, 3 against the Angels and 7 against Seattle.
We have 6 against the Yankees and 6 against the Rays.
Right now we have a half game on Texas and a game on Seattle.
If we go 4-2 against the Yankees and 3-3 against Tampa, that 7-5 probably seals it, but not respectably - which is pretty much how I feel about this team this year - not respectable for what they should be.
Scenarios:
Seattle or Texas wins out, but they win their games against not one another (so one team goes 13-0 and the other goes 6-7), if we play .500, one team doesn't catch us. The worst case is they go 6-0 and then 4-3 in their head-to-head, so one team is 10-3, and the other is 9-4. We'd have to go 9-3 in in our final 12 to seal it.
Realistic scenarios based on schedule: Seattle goes 4-2 and takes Texas 4-3 for an 8-5 finish; Texas goes 5-1 and loses 4-3 against Seattle for an 8-5 finish. A 6-6 finish for the Jays doesn't do it here. But if you skew their head-to-head into a 5-2 for one team, it means we'd get in at .500 ball - and this assumes that Texas does smush Boston and the Ohtani-less Angels. It assumes Seattle sweeps Oakland takes 1 from Houston.

Your confidence in Texas is not shared by fans
Have you been following them the last while? They are finding ways to lose just like the Jays. |

They suck. Watching them lose to Cleveland was a bright moment in a bleak season.
That said, if we can beat Boston, so can Texas. If you're on the Angels - at this point - you're probably looking at closing out the year against Oakland as your next chance to win a game! They stink.
But yeah - if a team can snatch defeat away from the jaws of victory better than the Jays, it is Texas.

Its baseball
Boston could sweep them, they have a decent team.
You don't want them to be facing the Royals, Athletics, ect. But its baseball and Boston is not a team you can just expect 2-3 wins against. |

Saros rumours still out there Fabbro too.
My opinion the Tre should be all in on that. Saros is a legit star starter that will steal games both regular season and playoffs. Sammy not there yet and Bubs need win now.
Fabbro to me needs a change. Good right shot dman. |

continuing an intriguing conversation from last thread:
treedying should acquire poon jenner from the BJs by any means necessary👍
he will keep the pencil neck perverts willi, female dog and kweef out of moxies on school nights until treedying can deal them for some grownups who put team before big hats and celebrity👊🏿
to BJs: greedy female dog, floater willi and really(?)👍
to loafs: poon jenner, laine, provorov, gudbranson and plus👊🏿
what a (frank)ing joke🤦♂️
edit: nice alliteration👍🏿 - Skalapy
after all that you'd want Laine on this team? I mean he's good at scoring goals but quite soft and useless otherwise.

hopefully this doesnt get wasted. Its been a nice season on that side of the ball. never feeling like your OF is going to benny hill it out there (Lourdes, Teo, Tapia etc etc)
Kevin Papetti
@KPapetti
The Jays lead the majors in Defensive Runs Saved with 87. They lead by 30 runs.
If the season ended today, it would be their new franchise record. The 2007 team had 81.
It's the 9th best mark by any team since the metric started in 2003.
Varsho has had a pretty disappointing season at the plate, but he is probably my fav player to watch right now. just so good with the glove and on the bases. he doesnt make a lot of spectacular diving grabs...a big reason is because he is so damn good at getting a jump and reading the play and gets the the ball a lot easier than anyone. very underrated thing, as its not something fans really see

Had Kikuchi and Ryu not stepped up this season (along with most of the pitching staff) and had the call ups not exceeded expectations, the jays wouldnt be close to a playoff wild card.
Theyre hitting has been pretry disappointing.
Hopefully they get it done. |

My default is start in the 80's and then go forward. It helps with uniqueness because the young kids are limited to recent/active players.
And, either a lot of people cheat, or I don't know as much as I thought I did. The average scores are usually well above mine. - GalacticStone
I couldn't name a single player on Nashville - living or dead - and I'm quite proud of that.
It's a funny game - when there are teams and categories I like, it's fun. You throw in the Predators or Wild, and I'm not particularly interested in spending more than 5 minutes on it. |

Respectfully disagree on the goalie situation.
Saros has never won a single playoff series so he might be a 'legit' starter but that's regular season greatness that has never translated to playoff wins. I'd also argue Sammy is a 'legit' starter who was top 10 in SV% and GAA last year (7th and 6th in the league actually).
Both Saros and Sammy have 17 career playoff games.
Saros has 2 wins in 17 games / Sammy has 5.
Saros is also 2 years older.
Woll has 4 playoff games (3 starts) and 1 win with a .915 SV % so who knows, he might be the best playoff goalie of the 3!
I just don't buy into the concept of giving up assets to get a new starter when they have Woll and Sammy - especially if the goalie they are going after hasn't got it done in the playoffs before.
They didn't lose last year due to their goaltending, in fact you could likely say they haven't lost in the playoffs due to their goaltending for several years.
Shouldn't need a goalie to steal a series for them - they aren't the Habs riding the Jesus Price superman cape or anything from 2021! |

Jesus. Horrible trade. I was/still am the king of kings of GMs when it come to any EA NHL game on any Playstation in Be A GM mode. Not just my savvy trades but I was also a whiz in drafting and cap management too. All of this being on hard difficulty. If GMing was that easy, there would be a Steve statue in front of the ACC. |
