How's Soucy look next to Hughes? Any young guys standing out? - NewYorkNuck
McDonough looks pretty good. They're practicing special teams. Joshua and Garland just went at it with some nasty. It's actually been chippier than I expected. |

Sending a contract like that to Abby would be managements call, not RT's. - boonerbuck
Big cap hit, but not that big of a salary this year isn't it? Not sure it's good asset management though if you want to trade him before the deadline for a draft pick. |

Or it's even better asset management... if he goes through waivers and no one claims him, the team that gets him doesn't have to have him on their 23 man roster until the playoffs. |

At the scrimmage. Really like what Hronek brings. Legit top 4. Blueger looked good. Cole is quicker than I thought. Smooth footwork. Boeser didn't look any faster but it was clear some guys were coasting. - Load Management

Kuzmenko actually looks like he's got speed to burn this year. |

McDonough would give 2nd PP a legit scoring threat but the rest of his game seems to be a bit lacking still from what I’ve seen. |

The cap hit to be exact.
It's just not going to happen. I bet RT feels different about him than the fans anyhow. |

Tough to tell with the pairings. Hughes got burned on one of the Goals. Myers was glued to Irwin. He's looking like he's poised for bottom pairing minutes. |

When they figure out who's the 4rth line center for Abby... no wait, That was Green's camp.

From the looks of it our bottom 6 is gonna have a lot more size and speed. The D looks more mobile. I think a few people around here will be pleasantly surprised by Hronek. |

I know that things said are often changed but here is a endorsement of Myers from Allvin...this is a Drance article from The Athletic be warned.
It’s widely reported that Tyler Myers’ bonus was paid last week. Where does your club stand in regards to him, and with your pre-Canadian Thanksgiving cap situation in general?
We’re always looking ahead, and we have ways to be cap compliant. And we will be cap compliant.
Regarding Tyler Myers, we have no intention of moving him. He was good for us, especially after Sergei Gonchar and Adam Foote came in. He had a really strong World Championship and I was happy for him that he won the gold there. I know he’s excited to be back here, and working with Foote and training camp will dictate our opening night roster. |

Either way I'm here for it (and LM would move to Reuby levels of never living that down) - NewYorkNuck
According to the boys at SN he has been the best D man in training camp. He knows he is playing for a new contract. They called him Calder Myers.

I did hear someone on one of the sports radio shows comment that Myers played the top minutes on the PK especially after RT arrived, and that the PK stats did improve. Not necessarily a direct result of Myers, but I'm guessing you're right about how RT thinks of him versus the general fan base.
I would prefer to see him on the third defensive pair (and 3rd line ice time) with a better breakout d-partner than OEL was; Wolanin or Soucy perhaps. |

A couple of things from training camp was Canucks now have depth and how much better the D transition the puck.
I did notice with the young stars both of those items. |

Narrative buster. I'm not a Myers fan but like I say, they see things different than the bias fans express constantly.
He's going to play 18-20 minutes a game as usual. They are not going to replace those minutes with bottom type pairing players(yes I know people see him as non top 4)... yet. Maybe if they are out of the race and Myers is a TDL move, but not to start this season that's for sure. Like I said, this managent likes the depth they have now. Last thing you are going to see is them start off with a big hole in the line up. I'm just being logical is all.

They are all in on the playoffs, I don't see them trading Myers either, unless it's clear they won't make it by deadline. They want to keep EP40, so having him is better than trading Myers away for a D that might not have any chemistry with any pairing. |

Exactly. And seeing it this way doesn't make someone a Myers fan.

Myers had a great World Championship, this may carry over into Norris trophy consideration this season.
