I called a shut out half way through the 1st here at home. It wasn't a reach.

Management has to own this loss. They basically fed them to the wolves. Not a good way to set the tempo for the year. They preached all summer treat training camp and practices the same way you treat a game.
I know it is preseason, but it is embarrassing.

Make a bunch of cuts and then at least half a NHL team next game. Thats what I'm hoping to see.. don't care about wins losses... just getting this team prepared.

I know the shot clock was close, but I think the Canucks only had 2 maybe 3 quality opportunities |

Management really screwed the pooch on this one, great way to build confidence in your team.
Clearly the Flames prospects were ready for this game, as they came out flying.
Canuck veterans not bothering to show up.

Kind of hard to show up when youâre not on the roster |

Pre season who cares đ |

The Canucks roster for this game was probably done for the purpose to be able to make massive cuts quickly. It showed how many are not ready and canât hide behind NHL vets to look good. |

That's what I think but we'll see later. RT's first canucks camp. Not sure what he's going to do yet.

I think they get some other young players into the next game, then start the massive cuts |

This is the only thing that makes some sense.
For those who say pre-season doesnât matter, same poop played out last year. This was so easy to call, Im so glad I didnât go. I wavered last minute but had my first beer league game today and was pooped. Anyway, sure hope it was for the reason you mention. Still, I donât think itâs cool to trash your brand like that. |

It's not like any team in the league doesn't send an AHL roster to the away games, especially the first game. The main team hangs behind and goes through practices and videos... probably just as important to get those kinds of reps in while Tocchet is instilling things in them. |

Itâs not like they have any other time to watch video. Canucks management staff showing how much smarter they are than others. |

Oh they were there, just not the ones that were watching video and getting familiar with team tactics. |
