I was a Habs fan until expansion then I liked the Flyers from 1967 (12 years old). Then in the 80s an Oiler fan. I have seen a lot of cups except with these bunch of cup cakes.

Always liked big physical hockey never the Sedin style. Christ why the hell am I a Canuck fan?

Anyone remember the good old days when the Canucks sent the great Frankie Corrado to the minor and he wasn't waiver exempt, then got claimed?

I swear that move set the organization back at least a decade.

It sure did on the media side of things ... he could have been based here covering the knuckleheads instead of the laughs!

I can still hear my Toronto friends mocking me because we gave away a top 4 Dman.

Tocchet on Joshua: He’s gotta pick it up. I’m not going to get into some of the other factors, but he’s gotta try to win a job. The job’s not there. There’s other guys breathing down that want jobs.

I think Bains is a player to watch out for. Sounds like the organization really likes him and what he brings.

I have not seen anything up and above from him. He might be better than the rest but does not mean he is a NHL player IMO.

From the roster card from today I still see holes. I am less excited now than I was two weeks before camp. I mean they have McWard playing with Hughes as top pairing and PDG in top six.

I will repeat what I keep saying, I will wait and see how it all turns out.

This is from Drance, so take it with however much salt you want, but from his article on depth chart after training camp on Bains and PDG:

Where most of Vancouver’s other left wingers are younger players or fringier guys who have yet to establish themselves as bona fide, everyday NHL-level players, Di Giuseppe feels like the safest bet outside of Kuzmenko to be on the NHL roster on opening day. Di Giuseppe was described as a “systems guy” by Tocchet during training camp and it seemed notable that he was the first player utilized as a penalty killer in the club’s special teams drills. Di Giuseppe may only start the season on the fourth line, but it’s clear he’s got the inside track to break camp with the team.

Arshdeep Bains looms large as a dark horse with a real chance to break camp with the team, particularly if players like Podkolzin and Joshua leave the door ajar for him to kick down. Bains was given a significant opportunity on a top-nine line with Pius Suter and Conor Garland at training camp, was a standout in Penticton and has repeatedly demonstrated both his high hockey IQ and his growth as a physical specimen in Vancouver’s on-ice sessions.

Not much on McWard:

McWard has intriguing size and skating but his puck skills and defensive play could use more polish. He’s 22, so there’s time for him to develop.

Hoglander going to be a top six guy. Pods looking like he is Abby bound.

I could see Hogs playing top 6 if Mikheyev is out or rusty.

Speaking of... wonder when he's coming back. They said he would be back for preseason games... not sure I like the idea of him missing camp and only getting 1 game of preseason in if any.

This management has a terrible track record with their new players being in the line up.

Ah, okay.

My original was poking fun at commenters basing opinions about who should be on the team, based on whether they are waiver exempt or not.😁

There might have been a few prior or anything with that fucking Conan video attached.
As the devil's advocate, at least he posted regular blogs.

In the end his demand for payment or he'll walk was what ended him. I remember him in here asking why we were not supporting him when Ek still refused and he stopped posting blogs.

One comment he made in the thread that always stuck with me was that the oppositions bench was terrified when they looked over and saw our newly acquired Kassian at the beginning of the game.. Later that night, Kassian got slapped around in a fight and was being mocked by the oppositions bench all night. Typical fanboy observation.

Maybe those 4 could help the bottom end of Canucks roster
