Cap space and a reliable back up for the season. reasonable trade for a 3rd. Expect Silovs to be the back up next season.

I like DT. - VANTEL
He was the radio guy on Kraken broadcasts the past two seasons, I listened to him quite a bit, very good. |

There goes another pick to fix a past mistake. - Marwood
Like we're going to find a player with a 3rd round pick? don't complain until you see the picks they'll have to give up to move the last 4 years of the JTM contract. |

I don't know Tomlinson, but seems like the Canucks will continue to have one of the best broadcast crews in the league. - NorthNuck
Come on nobody was gonna replace shortly. He’s all time….
Always love the Nucks announcers… by far the best of the Canadian groups…
Van
Then Ott - Gary Galley / not Jamie
MtL - & Cal & the Peg tied ….
Then
Leafs - Cuthbutt & Simpson, who makes Brian Hayward look like Vin Scully |

He's vans back up. Only thing that makes sense. 1 season left... NHL salary and experience. Silovs needs games to develop. Martin is useless... - boonerbuck

He also did the Canucks prior to the Kraken. Good IMO

Seems like a good trade, the 3rd round pick in 2025 will be a very late 3rd round pick, which chances are will never make the NHL. - Makita

Are those picks going to be from the Petey, Demko or QH trade? Good to know the cap will still be flat in 3/4 years. |

Was he on there after Larscheid retired? I know I listened to him locally in the past, but he was a welcome voice on Kraken broadcasts when I started listening last year.
They’ve been talking about him leaving for the past couple months with nothing about what he was doing next. Good for him. |

It’s the price in flat cap adding a pick. But more importantly Canucks use glut of wingers to fill a real need for back up this season. Also opens door for Pods and Highlander.
All the moves so far look like they are serious about trying to make the playoffs. Plus show players like Petey and Hronek to sign long term. |

Chuckle all you want, good trade to free up cap space and also help Silos gain experience.
And 2025 the pick will be late because the team will be conference finalists… |

Good move, Canucks can’t chance Demko getting injured and having to play Martin. DeSmith gives them a reliable option.
Hope this gets the trades rolling in the league, lots of teams have to make moves to get to the cap. |

There was also risk that Pearson would be in and out of the line up with wrist problems after they committed to keeping him for the season. Then they wouldnt be able to move him at all. This team needs reliability and stability for their dollar especially since some of management's acquisitions have been on IR way more than in the line up.

I'm sure they would have called up Silovs over Martin if they were not out of the playoff picture yet. Martin is a tank call up...
