It’s the price in flat cap adding a pick. But more importantly Canucks use glut of wingers to fill a real need for back up this season. Also opens door for Pods and Highlander.

All the moves so far look like they are serious about trying to make the playoffs. Plus show players like Petey and Hronek to sign long term.

- Quinn's Quest

Considering it's just a backup and if we're banking on a backup being the difference between playoffs or not then we're in a LOT of trouble.

Crazy site , the Nucks show promise in the young stars ,nobody posts , but God forbid , they trade a 2025 3rd round pick and all the cockroaches show up to speil negative drivel..

Vegas used 5or 6 goalies to win the cup , so a good backup is important

Considering that Montreal was doing us a favor taking Pearson (and his 3.5 mil contract) off our hands and giving us a decent backup for 1.5 mil for a 2025 3rd is a bargain. But again, if a backup is going to end up being the difference between winning and losing a playoff spot we are in worse shape than anything.

So he had wrist AND hand problems? Great trade then ...facts only

Wrist or hand... what ever... doesnt change what I was suggesting.

I think only 2 people had anything negative to say about trading that pick. Drama queen much?

Was he on there after Larscheid retired? I know I listened to him locally in the past, but he was a welcome voice on Kraken broadcasts when I started listening last year.

They’ve been talking about him leaving for the past couple months with nothing about what he was doing next. Good for him.

- 1970vintage

Yes right before he did the Kraken broadcast he was on the Canucks radio broadcast only. Easy to listen to guy unlike Hirsch.

They have a log jam in net and we have one with wingers. It was a trade that helped both potentially. We'll see but clearly the two teams were a good trade match because of that.

I like getting a better back up option than we had especially after the year we dealt with last year. I am both happy and sad to lose Pearson. When he was on, he was a quality middle six winger with some snarl. But when he was hurt, he was a cap liability and weak link. I hope recovers as a person, but I wouldn't want to bet on it. The 3rd is both negligible and a bad thing for a club that needs prospects to give up. So... Fine trade, would have liked to have won harder. I guess we'll have to see if TP can produce or not and whether CDS helps our goaltending.

A lot of emotions over a pretty whatever trade. I think the Canucks are better off for it.

The real problem was re-signing Pearson in the first place

Yes I agree about 2 seasons to go but I happen to be more optimistic about the direction Allvin is trying to implement and I believe that this core group will be staying together and in the playoffs.

Now WTF do I know, SFA, the same as everyone posting here just a homer in rose coloured glasses I guess.

I’m looking at a fresh start to a full season for Tocchet & team. Expecting tighter structure & more accountability. Healthy Demko & new D corp. it can all add up to more than what many fans think. Injuries will always be a worry.

If the PO’s look bleak then can bet on Myers out & gain back at least a 3rd pick that is so highly overrated.

Ideally it's not our second season in a row to have our starter go down and get some of the worst goaltending in the league during his absence.

Ya but why did they have to give up a THIRD ROUND PICK for that?! /s

Wasn't Demko the starter that lead the Canucks to a record breaking start at 0-5-2, last season?

Yeah, it didn't start great. But at least they didn't end the season going 3-4 in a massive choke.

I mean, it wasn't GOOD, but I guess seeing as we're used to disasters all the time that's the best you can hope for.
