I just had a look at my messages.
Looks like i reached out to one poster to offer condolences after a personal loss and had various messages from Dragon and nuck4u wanting to be friends.
The only ones i've responded too was roster lineups w Nighthawk.
Not sure which of the above was more cringy.

I am currently neither a fanboy, pom-pom, waiver, or detractor of the team. I am currently in wait-and-see mode. That said I do have access to corporate tickets in the champions club all season long so I will be going to as many games as I possibly can. I love going to the games and enjoying the ambiance. I am excited for season 2 of the Kuzy show, Petterson and Hughes growing and a Boeser bounce back as well as JT Miller maturing after another season.
I find it interesting that the narrative going into camp was the defence is the problem they will have no issue scoring. Now it’s the defence by committee and we are worried they won’t score enough. I am no fortune teller but I do believe it not going to be as bad or as good as any of the prognosticators in this forum think. It will be a better structure but we will see! |

Sounds like Elias Lindholm's extension may be in 9 mill range ... that should be the final nail in coffin of anyone thinking Petey could/should be in 10 mill range. |

I think people think you're a hater because you hate the team and hope they don't improve - NewYorkNuck
And people think you're Nuck4U because you're a Richard, so there's that too. For the record, I do not hate the team itself, I hate the owner and his unwillingness to take a look at the bigger picture and realize that the team needs to take a major step back and do things differently, to stockpile draft picks and prospects at the expense of the big team winning games and build for the future, not chase the dream of just getting in the playoffs and having a Cinderella run to the Cup. |

Everyone here is a d ick, so that's not really anything revolutionary.
And there are people here with multiple accounts but I'm not one of them. You can ask Makita, he has the power to know.
And you literally said (paid 36) you hope this team doesn't improve. You don't like this iteration of the team – that's fine, everyone gets it. But, to be fair, that sort of labels you as a hater: you're hating on the team.
There's no one path to being a Stanley Cup contender. Even if they stockpile draft picks and sell everyone off, there's no assurance they're going to make it out of the bottom as a top team. Do I agree with how they've done it the past whatever number of years? No, but that's easy enough to follow along.
If you look at even the last two years, and how everyone slagged on Seattle for their terrible draft and wrote them off and how Hakstol was a terrible coach and how going into their second year they would again be a bottom feeder.. or how Vegas was run by inept people... one year can change a lot. Are the Canucks there? Who knows, that's why they play the games. But from year to year a lot can change. We'll see where they go. |

12th overall in league scoring last year with basically the same forward lineup no reason to think they can't manage the same this year. It is Defense and healthy goaltending the issue. Top 12 in scoring should easily be a PO team. IF you have the defense and goaltending to match which on paper, we do. |

There's a huge difference in talent between Las Vegas and us, not to mention Vegas happened to be contending at the time and were gunning for a Cup. Seattle also made extremely shrewd moves and sucked for their inaugral year while stockpiling draft picks that paid off big time last year and allowed them the leeway to trade some of them off for veterans that helped them get over the hump. Whereas our way is to not trade anyone with any sort of value for futures and only for short term fixes and or hockey deals for players that are reclaimation projects or are looking for a fresh start.
If you are honest with yourself, beyond Petey, Miller, MAYBE Kuz (although he would need to have another big year like last year to make me believe in him), Hughes and Demko, there's not much talent there that you would stack up against the top 6/top 4/goalies of the top teams. Can they get there? Sure, but it would be because all the teams around them flopped and every single player on the team met or exceeded expectations, and that's not a recipe for success or much of a plan. That's a wing and a prayer. |

You take out of Horvat 31 goals and they would be around 22nd spot for goals for. Which isn't really that good, from my understanding of the game, especially when your forward group provides little help defensively.
New season, new group of 3rd and 4th line deck chairs.

Just listened to an interview with Ian Cole, very grounded and realistic comments on expectations of what the players and coaches are wanting to achieve this season.
