When you have an owner like Aquilini, it doesn't matter how good you are, you're limited in what you can do to improve the team because he wants playoffs no matter what.

I reached that point 3 years ago.

A 5th round pick for a bottom six NHL forward is a gamble I am ok making seeing as the average 5th round pick only has a 15% chance to play in the NHL. Lafferty being brought in says to me that the multitude of bottom six options have left the coach and GM unsatisfied. It also seems like they may be making a few more moves as many of you have said already.

I don't think it's a bad get at this point he wins board battles and will hit and kill penalties. In a full season he can chip in 10-15 goals, name me one other bottom six guy who can do that now? He's also got speed to burn and will be a pain to play against. I like the fit at this point.
