I did. If Nylander can show something of a scoring touch early I think he can hang in there for short patches of games. I still think Eller over Acciari for 3rd line center, but there isn't much difference.

Yea I just figured if we're making a 3rd scoring line and a defensive 4th line that would be the way to go. Idk we gotta see these guys play hahaha.

Can we do a fantasy league centered around Jeff Carter? Everyone has to have Carter for at least a week and is required to trade him after that week. If you get a trade proposal involving Carter you have to accept. Any takers?

Sounds like nylander not having a great camp.

Stock Down:

Alex Nylander:

The Penguins’ 25-year-old project did not have a good day on Saturday. He was victimized by a couple of bad decisions with the puck and, at other times, did not provide proper puck support. He largely returned to his perimeter game, which kept him in the minors for several seasons. Those hoping to see Nylander finally break through and stick in the NHL lineup might want to look away.

Woof to the rosters we're using today, but at least we get a chance to see Yager and Blomquist on TV.

I would like to see them take a chance and try rakell on the 3rd and have a responsible 3rd line that can contribute as well. Apparently doc is impressing everyone. Obviously some competition in these scrimmages and drills should easily be handled by someone in the nhl, even a lesser player but his assertiveness is a good sign and he was one of the leading scorers at worlds.

Stock Up:

Drew O’Connor:

The big forward had some dazzling moments in the Day 3 scrimmage, including one exceptional sequence where he chipped the puck behind defensemen Taylor Fedun and Ryan Graves but maintained his momentum to create a forecheck puck win.

Then he stole the puck from Rickard Rakell and Brayden Yager’s breakout attempt and went straight to the net, trying a pretty backhand deke that trickled just wide.

Future linemate Lars Eller is impressed.

I’m kind of on the Deion train purely out of respect because I’ve lost money three weeks in a row from betting against him. They were always going to get murdered by Oregon and USC but their programmatic turnaround is legitimate so I have to tip my cap to him. From what I know about Deion, he’s an obnoxious bumhole but he keeps it to the field and is generally a good guy off of it. I can be tired of the manufactured schtick, but no real reason to dislike him.

I’m drunk as poop. What’s your Michigan brain thinking for tonight? Rooting for a meteor or do you have a preference?

Idk what some of you see in Nylander. He looked like a fringe NHLer to me last year. Does he even make this team over a good forechecker like Vinnie?

DOC, on the other hand, passed the eye test. He looked like a player that could break out, but just didn't produce. Hopefully this is his year.

So first pick has to be Jeff Carter. After each week Carter and at least one other rostered healthy player must be offered in a trade to any team that didn’t win the previous week. If someone sets this league up I’ll play.

CBus roster is pretty bad for the one o'clock so hopefully that's competitive. The 7 game should be a massacre though.

But man even I don't care about half these guys.

IMO, people overrated Nylander and Puustinen just because they were top scorers in WBS. Had heard Nylander had worked to round out his game, but sounds like it hasn't looked successful so far in camp, and he isn't good enough offensively for that to carry alone.

Hinostroza sounds like he's had a nice camp. And Sully loves guys with speed. So maybe he will win a spot.

DOC I'm a fan of so glad he's having a good start to camp.

Seems like the Pens know who are in five of their six bottom six spots:

Idk maybe he sucks, I'm not gonna lose sleep if he doesn't make the team haha. Just field the best team we can here to start.

I think it was more of that they were just the best of the bunch last year. Depth was hurting.

I've seen either he's picked up where he left off or improved from everyone. Don't think right now he's pushing his way through a crowded field with a waiver exemption, but think we should see him at some point during the year.

Drew O'Connor - Radim Zohorna - Alex Nylander
Matt Nieto - Brayden Yager - Andreas Johnsson
Dillon Hamaliuk - Evan Vierling - Matt Filipe
Peter Abbandonato - Sam Houde - Marc Johnstone
P.O Joseph - Chad Ruhwedel
Libor Hajek - Mark Friedman
Isaac Belliveau - Dmitri Damorukov
Alex Nedeljkovic
Joel Blomqvist

The interesting players to me are the goalies, top 2 lines, top d pair, and Belliveau. Besides them I doubt anyone but Friedman ever matters and he's depth.

I don't think anybody really overrates these guys. I think it's a combination of not having any good prospects and some some wishful thinking that we could get lucky and have one of these guys come out of nowhere.
