This is that 'bad defensive stat' I was trying to think of like a month ago when I said we were worse than Anaheim at something.
https://theathletic.com/4...res-big-question-2023-24/
"Opponents didn’t have to absolutely pepper the Sabres to sneak a scoring chance. Buffalo may have allowed the 10th lowest rate of attempts against at five-on-five, but opponents made the most of their opportunities. A league-high 58 percent of their shot attempts against reached the net. The Sabres allowed skating to concentrate their chances right in the quality areas of the ice, down the middle of the slot. That unsurprisingly weighed on their goaltenders, which landed the Sabres with the fifth worst goals against (3.08 per 60) in the league." - TheSabresTaco
Drop your Forwards down a bit, try and take the middle slot away a bit more. |

It’s almost a bigger insult to do what he did, imo and then mouth off about it. - Jet Jaguar BD
I agree 100%.
I played on some poopty baseball teams growing up, the other team’s coach obviously telling them to take it easy would piss me off even more than getting are* asses whipped did.

I remember last year they were dropping down to far. Leaving the D open for an easy point shot and rebound for goal. Constantly. - DirtyDan
Well either they weren't dropping down far enough to take away the slot or the D wasn't high enough. But that would be hard to tell with all the High Danger chances. And the D shots not setting up there box right I would imagine or atleast being out of position. |

Watch him score a goal on his 1st shot, and then get sent down with the first wave to Rochester. |

I think Terry gets too much money from MSG to go this, or any other, route. I really wish the NHL would get into to 21st century. The fact that most playoff games were on cable only was ridiculous. - Frizzlefry
Looks like that deal runs through 27/28. Imagine there's real questions on what happens next. I think they'd be fortunate to get the same deal.

I'm debating doing MSG+ for the $30/month just to avoid the poopty streaming issues. I'll probably wait until the weather turns though - Hank Balling
Don't remember what issues you were having. Were you doing center ice? I wish that were a better product. I'd gladly pay for it if I got every game.
The other options work well for me. Chromecast when I want to watch in another room.

Benson in, Rousek to Rochester?
Would they sit Olofsson over Jost as the extra forward?
What line does Olofsson get anchored to?
Casey, Cozens, Peterka?
Does Benson get to roll with Greenway and...who? |

Alex Tuch will not play tonight, according to the Sabres. Olivier Nadeau will step into the lineup.

Well hope that's not injury related. But intrigued to see Nadeau. Is he another Brett Murray, has the hands and the Physicality you want, but the skating hinders that. |

Have to find the best ones for you from there. Buffstreams has been great recently for other sports. If they have home/away for hockey, will be where I watch.

or just another case of giving the kids a good run early in preseason before they send them down
Playing VO is going to seriously cut into the vibes. Should have just bought him out and moved on.

I fully expect the bold, and generally, the decision that is the path of least resistance.
Can't risk losing high end assets like Bryson or Olofsson for nothing. |

Happy that some seem to be making it harder on Adams decisions wise. Hopefully he will get some practice at it. Just gonna be more hard decisions coming in the near future. - Buff36
These decisions are easy.
We have 2 1oa's and 3 deep at center.
Easy compared to the key positions on franchises..... |

Imagine KA making a bold move and waiving a vet or making a trade to free spots and following through on everything he's said the last few years, instead of the inevitable speech that another year of development is best for them.

If they where easy for Adams, then some players wouldn't be here already. |
