How many of them are real vs imaginary?
I know I'm jaded, but I think the only thing not set in stone is the 23rd roster spot....and even that may be. - Lunaion
Oh I'm with you. They can - and probably will - make boring decisions, but they have some realistic options if they so choose |

I would love to see Rousek sent to the AHL along with Bryson, and then either Jost or Olofsson sitting in favor of Benson, but we all know how this is going to go already. |

Rosen Kozak Rousek 4th line next year. And Biro has to go through waivers this year I believe. Could get scooped. |

Makes the Girgensons, Jost and Okposo retention decisions more dubious but here we are. |

I wouldn’t be so sure.
I don’t believe the fact that Benson has been stapled to RW is a coincidence.

Kozak is still young though, he could marinate in Rochester for another year or two and still be on his developmental arc.
Biro is 25 years old, and with Rousek as the leader in the club house for that 13th forward tweener spot it’s hard to see where he fits. - Swedish_Jesus
Was actually talking about Rosen and 4th line next year being his way up, and Kozak wouldn't be until next year. But Biro isn't waiver exempt anymore I don't think. He could get scooped. |

Would be much more interesting if they didn't resign Jost.

A string of injuries in January and we might see a few of them up. Nice to see they will have their pick if that's the case.
Thompson and Dahlin both looked very smooth tonight as you would expect. They were definitely going 75% speed but their skill is disgusting at times |

None of Biro, Murray, Clague or Cecconi look to be waivers exempt per CapFriendly. |

I think that suggests that they are trying to win this year, despite the narrative that they aren’t.
Rousek and Biro very well could be ready for a bottom 6 checking role, but if they aren’t, now all of a sudden the whole bottom 6 is a complete wash.
With Girgensons, Okpsoo, and Jost you have a known quantity energy line. |

Maybe, but until they make an interesting decision, better to expect the boring ones to be made. |

Where is Krebs playing, because it seems as if they like him Centering the 4th line. |

Replace Jost with Johan Larsson and I've been told this for 7 years.
The Sabres are also 0-7 making the playoffs during that time |

You know 100 Biro's are going to clear waivers towards the end of camp.

Biro could win the 13th forward spot out of camp with Rousek being waiver exempt.
Could keep Kulich happy having his fellow country man still with him in Roch |

I think the debate with Benson comes down to what is best for his long term development.
If he continues to play like this up until the regular season, I think you at the very least owe him his 9 games |

Do you think KA needs 9 games to make this decision? That feels very out of character to me.

Replace Jost with William Carrier or Jordan Martinook and they still don’t make the playoffs the last 7 years.
It doesn’t mean that those players don’t fill a role on your hockey team though.

One of Krebs or Mitts moves to the wing I would imagine in the top 9.
Unless they are going to try Tage or Cozens on the wing again like they did down the stretch last year. |

Sure, that's kinda why I said could. He's a tweener |

Fair enough. Also doesn't mean they're irreplaceable, at least in theory. Although I agree that in practice Okposo and Girgensons are untouchable with this regime |

The great thing about last season is you can argue any change pushes them into the playoffs.

Completely agree, I like Girgensons more then most, but if he wanted term he wouldn’t be here right now.
The front office I believe shares that same sentiment.
I truly think they will put the best 12 forwards on the ice within reason. At least with the Larry’s you know you have that club in your bag. |
