A rookie goalie expected to play 60-65 games is not a great plan.

I think he will turn out to be terrific.

The risk is between the times when teams develop a book on him, and when he adequately address those issues identified.

I would expect to see some sort drop off in performance over the short-term...might take 30-40 games for the book to be written.

Pretty sure the Sabres promised levi the starting goalie job and a good number of starts, when levi could have left the franchise and chose any other nhl team as a free agent out of college.

That's why, upl is the back up. No win now goalie, by Levi's agents request.

yeah when knox left, they still had a little bit of talent left but they fell off a cliff in 84

Yeah that sequence was terrible. I think Levi will quickly surpass UPL on the depth chart, but overall we can't hold UPL to the fire each game.

In a perfect world we would trade for a win now goalie to take pressure off of Levi but I don't think the right trade will be available. I think UPL will do better with more consistent work.

Underwhelmed during the prospects tournament when I watched. Got beaten on a few different occasions and didn't have the speed to catch back up. However a lot of players looked like they couldn't skate much in the penguins prospect game, so maybe it was a multiple games + practices thing.
