I mean, I would. Is he eligible for an AHL conditioning stint post injury recovery?
Either way, I wouldn't send either back until there's a permanent resolution in wenatchee. - Michael Ghofrani
The logistics of keeping Benson and Savoie, even for 9 games, will be a challenge.
Forward: Tage, Skinner, Tuch, Peterka, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Greenway, Jost, Olofsson, Girgensons, Krebs, Okposo (12)
Defense: Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Clifton, E. Johnson, Jokiharju, Stillman, Bryson (8)
Goal: Levi, Comrie, UPL (3)
With a 23 man roster, who are you waiving from the above to make room for Benson and Savoie short term? |

If Savoie can go to the AHL for a bit that solves one problem. Then you waive Bryson or trade luukkonen (probably the former but you never know)

Conditioning assignments are 2 weeks? Can you really imagine them ping ponging them for an extended period? |

is two weeks an extended period? In my mind I figure by the end of it Wenatchee will resolve things and they can both go back. Benson plays some NHL games but its too much for him etc.
Then you recall whoever you sent down. Or Benson lights it up and the decision becomes easier to keep him.
I think the only scenario they want to avoid is the incident spiralling into something new/worse that drags out. Cause then you're really stuck. |

Seemed like you were suggesting something crazy, like a Benson conditioning assignment when Savoie's 2 weeks were up.

The Sabres can apply for an exemption for savoie. Definitely not Benson age and game wise
Problem like I mention before is number of roster spots they are taking up |

If they feel this way, what's the purpose of those 9 games?
I still expect to hear that they don't think he's physically ready for the NHL yet and I don't have any problem with that. - Lunaion
The 9 games are developmentally very significant for these kids. If he's not here for the year, it's solely because of his weight and strength.
I know people like to use skill and talent as the sole reasons for prospects to earn a spot but size and strength are very significant, as well as being able to play at NHL speed and both sides of the ice.
Those 9 games gives those kids the knowledge to prepare for their NHL journey.
It would actually be incredible for a 170 lb 18 year old 13 OA pick up make the roster. |

The OHL and the WHL apparently have different rules. |

Bryson is overpaid and not that great. Easy waive |

Waiving Bryson is fine. I doubt anyone claims him. UPL would be the other. |

I didn’t watch the game. So I don’t know much. Sorry. However my math tells me by looking at the score that +/- is not possible. However I am an engineer who got my 6th grade sons math wrong 3 weeks ago. 🤷♂️ |

UPS may get waived. But I just don’t know it’s that huge a loss. I think Comrie is better and toks is comparable. It does hurt the depth though. |

They both stink. UPL is just younger |

Oh I dont even know how they'd do that. I meant savoie. Like his two weeks post injury coinciding with the >10 games Benson would play at the start of the year. |

The condition stink would buy you time
If Savoie skates with the team on Wednesday. When do the Sabres have their next preseason game or games next week |

I too have used my engineering skills to add up all of the goals against and came up with the accurate number of 8 |

The players to waive may be obvious to us, but the team's current management moves at a glacial speed when it comes to actually waiving a player, as they seem to have a phobia to potentially losing a player. |

When players were mentioned, you claimed Adams and company would make space if the player earned.
Now you're adding in other factors in addition to 'earning it'.
That allows you to basically say a player like Benson could never earn it, because he's not big enough yet.
Nice and convenient. |

Devin Cooley and Dustin Tokarski are the fool proof backup if comrie or upl get snagged.
I think the off-season plan was to shed one of them by the end of camp. |
