lets be honest here, if Primeau was not a Habs prospect, noone here would know him or talk about him, or want to claim him if he was on waivers.
good luck in Laval kid, and don't look in the mirror, Dobes is coming after you.

yeah, he wasn't too bad last year in the playoffs with the Rocket, I was hoping he would come out strong this season and show that he's continued to progress in the right direction. sucks to hear he's struggling but he still has the pre-season to get his poop together... it's pretty much his last chance to prove himself with the habs right now.

I was at both scrimmages in Brossard

Few takeaways.

- Arber Xhekaj seems ready for the season. Still surprised how mobile he is for a big guy.

- I know it's only scrimmages, but poor Gallagher. I mean, he looks like he's hurting all over just by making strides.

- I really liked Cedric Guindon, he has a good hockey sense and good hands. It's going to be back in the OHL for him, but I think he left a good impression to management.

-Caufield had a few looks this game, seems he was always looking for the pass. Probably something about not wanting to shoot high on teammates goalies during a scrimmage. I was looking at him, and on those passes I thought that in a real game he would take the shot most of the time.

-Slafkovsky scored a nice goal during the shootout, but I'm still waiting for him to do something reassuring. I know it can take some time, but at least a few flashes would be nice.

As well as Karine, I also thought Mailloux was looking better out there. Seems he's taking small steps every time he's on the ice. I still think it's the AHL for him but it's good to see him improving.

I don't think there's any doubt that he'll be a NHL player, and probably a good one.
he just needs a bit of seasonning.
a year in Laval to get some mileage and improve his D game, and he'll be a Habs for a long time.

that's cool, must've been way more interesting to watch those scrimmages live in person rather than on the web. did you have to buy tickets or something? I thought it was only open to the public tomorrow.

that's what I was alluding to, yes.

I'll surely watch it but I'm more curious about the pre-season games starting Monday.

No, it was free. Seats are first come first serve. There wasn't that many people, especially this morning.

Also, Josh Wawa is going to give management headaches I think.

I still think he starts the season in Laval, but he's looking good right now. Also, playing with Dach and Monahan also helps. Seems like they want to give him a real shot.

oh! yes lol
Laval for him too. like Mailloux, will be a good NHLer. he's probably closer than Mailloux though, just no place right now. a bit ironic on a club that finished 28th but hey.

with the NHL record-breaking number of injuries last year there were definitely spots available all season, notably giving RHP a chance to shine, but now that everyone is healthy players will have to compete with each other to get in the lineup and stay there, which isn't such a turrible thing.

I am not even sure EK is doing anything on this site anymore, TBH. Looks like others are just throwing up a post here and there in his name...the tracker is still up, the site is non functional for hours on end.

This may be coming to an end fast.

yeah, the apparent neglect makes you wonder what the (frank) is going on, but I think the website is still generating enough traffic to keep it up and running, even if EK calls it quits he could just hand it over to someone else to work alongside the team bloggers.

heck, even if it's someone who doesn't know anything about hockey, chances are that person would be able to write higher-quality articles than what they're currently getting in the main thread lol.

that does not surprise me one bit... I never understood what was the point of paying for that in the first place, unless you have a particularly big boner for speculative roomer charts.
