yeah, the apparent neglect makes you wonder what the (frank) is going on, but I think the website is still generating enough traffic to keep the website up and running, even if EK calls it quits he could just hand it over to someone else to work alongside the team bloggers.
heck, even if it's someone who doesn't know anything about hockey, chances are that person would be able to write higher-quality articles than what they're currently getting in the main thread lol. - Pat1993

that does not surprise me one bit... I never understood what was the point of paying for that in the first place, unless you have a particularly big boner for speculative roomer charts. - Pat1993
The sth is a great scam. Charge people more money for more analysis on your own made up rumors. Usually, paid subscriptions to sites like these provide more tools like ability to embed tweets, giveaways, ignore button, early access to things... |

Primeau is toast......falling down the goalie prospect rankings fast. It would be surprising to see him claimed off of waivers. Laval here he comes..... |

yeah, I think a lot of habs fans gave up on him a while ago, I was hoping he'd pan out to be at least a decent NHL backup but that remains to be seen. he's 24 and missed a lot of development time because of covid, so who's to say he won't take a step up in a year or two, a bit like Montembeault is doing right now at 26. |

oh! yes lol
Laval for him too. like Mailloux, will be a good NHLer. he's probably closer than Mailloux though, just no place right now. a bit ironic on a club that finished 28th but hey. - fidopro
there are a lot of kids already on that team, if you care to look
If fans did not know the word sophomore, they will learn with that blueline
I think they have 5 ds who will play their sophomore season in 23-24 for mtl |

In fairness, when this place started, there were no other placed like it. So even made-up / fake information was, at the time, seemed better than no information to some folks (and probably did not appear to be as fake in the early days).
But now with the proliferation of sites, twitter, podcasts, trade deadline shows, free agency shows, etc... this is a dinosaur model.
I mean, good on EK for riding the gravy train while he could, but it was never going to last.

Like Pat says, I hate being that guy... but I said maybe 18 (or so) months ago I did not think he would ever be an NHL starter and even wondered if he would make a decent back up.
There really has been no progression in his game.
I think the sheer lack of prospects over the years got us all over excited about a player who maybe showed promise years ago, which he never lived up to meeting.
You know, the usual ways prospects works out for the Habs in the past.

I guess that depends on what your expectations are in terms of results from this website, pretty sure it's getting a decent amount of clicks with habs and laff fans alone.

Certainly, I remember friends sending me rumors from this site and the page blog would have 30 pages of comments... it was alive. Even blogger pages, if you were gone for 2 hours, back reading was futile because the discussion had shifted 15 times anyway.
But, ya, Ek hasn't changed a thing and never tried to make this site more than what it was. I'm sure he could have made it more of an hfboards format, but that takes time and focus. |

hes young and cheap
0 risk for a team to take a chance on him
Montembaum was claim on waivers himself and is a late bloomer
but at this point, I dont think mtl cares all that much losing him on waivers |

if bloggers would actually write, it would help
Karine does a great job at that, but a lot of fans dont have much in terms of articles posted for their teams |

personally I'd give Primeau a pass even if he doesn't make it at a higher level, becoming a good NHL goalie is surely way (frank)ing hard to accomplish, let alone in a city like MTL where the team has only been about quality goaltending for the past decades lol.

I think it's to be expected though that some franchises don't have a blogger and an active fanbase in the threads, but yeah having blogs for bigger/more popular markets would be logical.

not sure Dobes will be any better either, but there's a reason why they are starting to draft goalies here and there |

Anyone playing even 1 game in the NHL is hard to accomplish.
This is not a knock against the player, but more about the expectations that were set by the media / team, etc... for a player that was always NHL marginal at best.
Also, the track record of poopty development in this organization for the last 30+ years speaks for itself, as well.
As I said, this is more about the crappy pool of prospects we had for years, that when one might seem liek thye could make it, we think he is the next best thing.

Dobes is only 22, so technically he has more time in front of him to reach another level.
if the draft is already a crapshoot, drafting a goaltender is probably the biggest crapshoot of all positions (besides the obvious exceptions like Price and Vasilevski). |

That's part of website upkeep. Make sure you have bloggers for every team and are blogging. For example, say we look at the coyotes, talk about their arena gets a lot of clicks on other sites. So you should make sure you get a coyotes blogger, and if you already do, make sure they're blogging and not posting in other team threads all the time instead. Again, just an example. |

with Price here for years, they had no reason to focus on goalies prospects and Primeau was petty much the only one mtl had for years. That's starting to change, slowly. Cause Price is gone and Primeau looks how he looks |

I wonder if Karine will be around much longer TBH.
Looks like she is setting herself up for the collapse of this website.
