From the last board:

I am not a fan of 34 on the pk. Not because he can’t do it - he’s the best 2 way centre in the league and can read the ice all day long. Shot blocking is a concern. He does it 5v5 enough and when you look at the number of offensive chances
Created on the pk (obviously they happen each game) but the chances it’s when 34 is on the pk and they capitalize is just not enough risk reward of having your best player (by a landslide) out with a broken foot or ankle.
If leafs are down in an important and pushing for a goal then absolutely take that chance. But for regular pk minutes each game - not a chance if I were a leafs fan.

- Big23Questions

Yeah but he probably reads hockey buzz and realized he will never be known as a strong defensive player unless he does an adequate job on the PK

I doubt he stays on the pk, just gonna get him some experience in case they need him.

Still blows my mind that some folks can’t grasp that being a good pk player does not automatically make you a good defensive forward 5v5. It’s literally called special teams because it’s not normal.
Hockey played 5v5 - special teams is an aspect within the game. Completely different pace, structure responsibility etc. frankly it’s korenpond hockey.

from last thread:

Both liberals and conservatives can agree on these :

1) Torts should be the Leafs coach.
2) Poon Jenner should be Leafs captain.
3) Skalapy should be president of the USA and Canada.
4) Pantywaist floaters like Willy are communists.

We should focus on the things that unite us.

Keefe is currently using Nylander up the middle so even if that’s not what he plans to do after the preseason I have a feeling he’ll get mostly used there during it.
