4 straight now under 20 goals. Maybe on pace for 20 if he played a full season. But not coming close to that one season. Again the whole team over performed that year. One season is an outlier.

I’m not disagreeing. I do feel like Marc Savard wasn’t one of the sexier names as a playmaking center in his time in the NHL though. I am looking for a comparison for Frost, if anyone has one.

Would have to go back and watch but Pelle Eklund was a pass first player, quick not fast.

And a little bit last year... til he had a turnover (which was as much Patrick Brown's fault as Frost's) and was yanked off the PK the rest of the season for all but one late-season game

Martin Necas as a ceiling. Has the talent to be a point per game player, decision making is still a work in progress but improving and not quite tough enough on the puck. Gets pushed around a bit. Defensively average. Thriving now after a move to RW for all the same issues Torts has with Frost.

The purpose of getting Couturier and Atkinson into the lineup for the preseason opener this year is to get the mental hurdle of getting back into game action at the earliest possible time. Even a preseason game has a different level of competitiveness and more "authentic" feel than a scrimmage.
