is Joshua Roy ready?

If he needs to go to Laval, fine, but Im pretty sure they wont make that decision after one or two games

They have options, which is nice

pt que queulqu'un va voler une chaise et Gallagher devra se bencher sur tit pouf

Is Joshua Roy ready?

No I don't think so, not yet ... he's showing nice things but some time in the AHL might be better for him. Learn to be a pro first, adjust to an 82 game schedule and work on strength (muscle mass). No need to rush him.

Jumping from juniors to the NHL is a huge step, the players are much faster and stronger. Unless you're an exceptional, not many can make the jump directly.

Just my opinion obviously.

I would agree, but he's making sure management will remember him.
since he doesn't need to go through waivers (unlike some others) it makes for an easy decision. he's almost ready though.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't play a few NHL games this year.

I wouldn't mind it at all, it would give him an idea of what he needs to work on down in the minors.

we should have a very interesting season, both in MTL and Laval.
one question keeps bugging me though. we know they will eventually have to trade a young dman, maybe even 2. maybe later this season or next summer.
who will they target? picks? a top6 F? a stud G?
that one I'm curious to know the answer.

I'm also very curious about who they'll be trading away, with young prospects you have to be careful about making any major mistakes since it's difficult to predict exactly how they'll pan out.

I think even them don't have the answer to this question. it will depends how the season unfolds. will Montembeault proves he's a legit #1? will Dach and Newhook show they can be top6 players? on a winning team I mean.
my guess is that this season will tell Hughes what he needs to get in exchange for a few young dmen.

Good question ... I have no idea what they have in mind.

Our D seems in good shape for the future ... a top 6 forward would be nice for sure.

yeah well you have to give to get, so there's bound to be 1 or 2 trades that'll make us feel a bit uncomfortable, even if they're acquiring a good player...

I'm comfortable with Montembeault ... we have to remember that he's playing behind a 27th place team with a very young defense.

Can't say we lost many games last year because of our goalies.

I agree 100%, but is he a legit #1 on a winning team? that remains to be seen, but I hope he continues on the trend he started last year, I really like the guy.

I really don't know but do we need a 10 million dollars goalie if we have a team that can actually score goals and has a good D core?

Offense is the best defense.
