For the Sens, Norris shoulder is hurting again, not good. Pinto....is unsigned. That's their #2 and 3 centers

He should be part of the last cuts, might even play a game or two in regular season if they have any injuries.

Ylonen is not showing much so far and he has to go through waiver if sent down.

When Roy improves his skating (and he will), I expect him to make the team full time. He should be a strong candidate next year.

injuries or not, he should see some NHL action this season, unless he's really struggling in the AHL which would really surprise me.

If things go as planned, he should be called up after the TDL.

a Dvohell of a deal I am sure

Roomer is the Sens might be willing to include their 1st round pick to move Mathieu Joseph with no salary retention. He is signed until 2026 with a cap hit of 2.95M. They need just under 1M to sign Pinto

Yeah even with his skating now he's so good at finding the open spaces and reading the game, I hope he can add a little spring in his skate.

Yeah, I'm not impressed with him either ... I wouldn't care that much if he was picked up on waivers on his way down.

We have a lot of other prospects in the system.

yeah, I'm not ready to give up just yet. he needs time to find his X. took him 1 year more than I expected to do so in Laval. he doesn't have a bad camp and did well in the second half last year. he has all the tools Hughes is looking for, speed, hockey sense, a good shot.
it's not like we have a ton of depth on the right side either.

He's a 3rd liner at most ... pretty average player from what I've seen of him this year (and last year in the AHL).

He's not the biggest guy around, not a bad skater ... could fit on a checking line eventually. But he'll need to show more to make the NHL.

you will.
I hope!
give him time (and the opportunity). he has this season to prove I am right. after Caufield, most skilled winger we have imo.

lol
I admit he needs to step up his game. someone needs to light the fire you know where . but the talent is there, no doubt.

considering he's 3 years younger, I'm convinced Roy will be a better player, but we'll see.

They invited 72 players (including Dvorak) for training camp, already released 4 players so down to 67 active players. I would expect 25+ players being cut tonight or tomorrow.

They have no B2B games, always a day off in between pre-season games, no need to carry more than 40ish players

- Symba007

thats were it get interesting, after the first large cut

you may be right.
that'd be disappointing because like I said the talent is there. like we rarely saw for a Habs prospect tbh.

isssh, you've never been wronger ( yes, I know its not a word)

Ylonen is in his last miles in the NHL, were Roy I can see being a regular in 2 years

Then again, I could be wrong too

I hope you're right but in my mind, Roy has a better chance of eventually becoming a Top 6 player than him.

Like Caufield, I think Roy has more of a "nose" for the net ... we saw it in the LHJMQ and the World Junior Championship.

Regardless of who's right or wrong, I think we can all agree that Roy needs to spend some time in the AHL first.
