You do, and you got a guy whos 22yo, no injuries, 100 hits per season and who will likely score atleast 40-50 points with top 6 minutes and PP time. Youre telling me thats not worth a first round pick?

Not a lottery pick. You wore me down. A playoff teams first rounder is the highest. So I guess comparable to nils. But more likely we’d want a roster player in exchange, which will certainly not be a guenther or zegras

Keep in mind we’re talking about after this season if he fails to take it to the next level again.

Regardless, of LAF, hes not alone. LAF, Kakko, Chytil... all need to take the next step for us to be a real threat.

Garand sent down and Domingue on waivers. I know they made a big deal out of quick signing with his hometown team but he looks WASHED. In his current state he’s not fit to play in beer league let alone as an nhl backup

I can only go by how quick has been thus far and at this point last preseason halak was good. Quick hasn’t shown a single second of competent goaltending

Halak finished last year about league average in goals saved above expectation. Quick was near the bottom of the league. Quick's goose is cooked.

Hi all ----

Just got in and had a chance to watch the game against the Islanders.

The first goal scored by Pageau 7 mins into game was completely on LaFreniere. Despite being on his second or third shift of the game, he is just floating on the backcheck. No sense or awareness of whats going on around him, until it is too late. His futile dive to block the pass that lead to the goal should have gotten him benched!

I honestly think we should be calling up Gorton in Montreal and seeing what he would offer in return. LaFreniere is not a complete bust, he is an NHL player --- but he clearly has no place on this team when Othmann continues to outplay him in every way/situation.

I had been hoping that a new coach and new system was going to represent a great opportunity for him to shine. I regret to come to the conclusion that he hasn't improved at all in his deficiencies: STILL can't skate, hesitant on offense, and doesn't contribute anything special on defense.

Time for LaFranchise to go while we can still get something of value in return!!

Yeah he started like poop. I remember. What I'm saying is that he rebounded to finish with 1.1 goals saved above expectations. Almost bang on average. Quick, on two good teams last year, finished with -17.2 goals saved above expectations. That ranked 58th out of 62 goalies that qualified. Quick has been bad for a while now.

I have full faith in Benoit Allaire.

I do not have full faith in this person.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I also think Quick could be done. All I am saying is that we have seen Benoit polish turds into serviceable NHL goalies. Ondřej Pavelec notwithstanding. Though he did improve during his short stint with the Rangers.

Also gonna depend on how much Lav uses back up goalies. Assuming Shesty stays healthy, how much would we see of Quick?

I remember when Grant Fuhr used to play like 75 out of 80 games back in the oilers heyday. But these goalies are pussies now haha

Just change up the game plan when Quick is in. 5 defensemen. Easy peasy

Laviolette's three seasons in WSH:

- Kuemper/Lindgren split 56/26
- Vanacek/Samsonov split 39/39
- Vanacek/Samsonov/Anderson split 36/18/2

So if you look at those splits then you can effectively tell that I just wasted three minutes looking them up

I think they should just keep Lafreniere as 3rd line LW, stop worrying that he was a first overall pick, stop worrying about the expectations, blah blah blah

just accept it, as this point he's a decent 3rd line LW, he's certainly not a first line RW
