Hilarious (read: dumb) comment. - bmeltzer
Nobody had a “bad game”. Look at the score sheet, but there are guys like Tippett and Brink (his line mates) willing to drive to the net, risk their bodies and are creating something out of nothing. Brink in comparison looks like a veteran in his 5th season. A couple of us were on this blog watching the game and having conversations. There were a couple of “Oh a Frost siting” comments made, which is just how we felt. If this makes me dumb, 🤷🏾♂️
Jesus, the way people jump to this kid’s defense as if anyone is really poopting on him is ridiculous. My eyes couldn’t roll back further into the back of my head. Some of us want more. I want more. I’ve thought Cates has been far more impressive in one game.

he was likely to make it anyway as has to pass through waivers. He needs to be in the top 6. We shall if that happens.
- hello its me 2050
Yes but looking past his contract status, Zemula was one of the best Flyers defenseman last night. He was steady, strong on the puck and moved well. If he continues to play like this he will earn a roster spot, contract aside. Seeler BTW was also very good last night, skated better than I have ever seem him skate. He will on the 3rd pairing for most of the season for sure. |

One area that was a disaster for the Flyers last night was the PK. Granted the Bruins had their top players out there in this game, but what the Flyers did poorly was not stay structured and they did not cut off that cross ice pass. The Bruins PP is based on the cross ice pass so if you stay structured and keep your sticks in the lanes, you will keep the puck to the outside and pretty much stifle the Bruins PP. Last night the Bruins had their way with the Flyers in this regard. I guess that is why teams have pre-season, to practice. |

I have to admit. Morgan Frost looked really really good once you took all the players off the ice from the other team and on his own team and put him up against the other team’s goalie one on one. - SuperSchennBros
Frost was not good in the faceoff department

Bobby Brink making his case. He may have jumped ahead of Foerster in the race for a roster spot in my opinion. He has looked quick and engaged. - MBFlyerfan
Is forester hurt, he has not well in a game yet?

I was able to see the second half of the game on NHL Network last night, so that was my first glimpse of the Flyers this year. Lots of energy in the game for a preseason game and it was actually fun to watch! I thought Brink and Zamula acquitted themselves well although Zamula had a very bad shift at the end of regulation. He had a giveaway in the offensive zone to get the Bruins going the other way and then he proceeded to give the puck away in his own zone which led to a grade A chance before time expired. Peterson bailed him out and I thought Peterson played well too. What the hell is their deal on the PP? I noticed that NO ONE is in the shooting position. Everyone's backs are to the net. WTF is that? I've said this before and I'll say it again. I think Brink has NHL hands and hockey IQ, but I just don't know if he can play the game up to NHL level speed when the real games begin.
That shootout goal by Frost leaves me to ponder when will the NHL enforce the rule about continuing forward momentum on breakaways? That was very borderline. Grans looks like the next coming of Myers. Eh what? - Phillywhiteout
See my first post in this blog, I mentioned this exact thing in regards to Tyson Foerster.

I don't think so, he just doesn't know how to make space for himself. Needs to watch video of Ovechkin. Unfortunately I don't think Foerster is making the roster out of camp. |

It was a preseason game filled mostly with ahl players. Calm the hate down dude or become a fan of another team.

For me it was a different perspective watching Frost live versus on TV. There were a lot of Frost sightings offensively last night, some good, some not so good in terms of finishing some high danger chances he had. But when you watch live you can really see the defensive side of the game a lot more, and here Frost shined IMO. His gaps were good, his pursuit of the puck was excellent, and his corner battles were good for a kid of his size. This has been an area of focus for Frost since Mike Yeo became coach and I think Frost does a very good job now. Frost also was pretty good on faceoffs last night which he also needed to improve from last season. If he plays like this in most of his games, he will be fine.

Tell you what. I’ll await your criticism of one player on the roster and when it comes, I’ll remind you to find another team. Apparently this is how being a fan works. |

See my first post in this blog, I mentioned this exact thing in regards to Tyson Foerster. - jd250 Yeah, Foerster has not looked good with what little I have seen of him. I think he was the guy that was supposed to be the shooter (bumper position), but he wasn't in position. He seems hesitant, but I only saw the second half of last night's game and some of the rookie game that he was in. If it's between him and Brink it will be Brink at this point although perhaps both can make the team out of camp. |

Foerster did do a better job near the end of the 3rd period, where he found the seam and was facing the net to get a pass and one time it on net just wide, but other than that he still has work to do. I don't know what Rocky Thompson was talking about post game, but he did spend most of his time talking about how good Brink was so to me I think it's Brink to start the season with the Flyers and frankly he deserves it.
I would also like to see Allison win a spot over Deslauriers on that 4th line. Allison will make that line much better. |

Wasn’t Forester banged up early in camp? Maybe he’s not right physically? |

I wonder if that hard crash to the boards that he took did leave him hurting a little...
But you're right, he hasn't looked like he did in his call up last season. It's disappointing but it's still early |

They should both be playing.
That's why I didn't understand signing hatthaway. He just takes up a roster spot that should be for one of the kids |

The way Torts ripped Allison last season for being "always hurt" and saying it over and over and over again. I would not be surprised if every young player hides injuries from the staff.

Just watched the highlights. Looks like it was a good game. Brink with a sick shoot out goal and Peterson with an incredible blocker save late.

I agree. I guess he could be an insurance policy if the kids aren’t ready. Otherwise maybe he occupies the Riley core suite |
