For me it was a different perspective watching Frost live versus on TV. There were a lot of Frost sightings offensively last night, some good, some not so good in terms of finishing some high danger chances he had. But when you watch live you can really see the defensive side of the game a lot more, and here Frost shined IMO. His gaps were good, his pursuit of the puck was excellent, and his corner battles were good for a kid of his size. This has been an area of focus for Frost since Mike Yeo became coach and I think Frost does a very good job now. Frost also was pretty good on faceoffs last night which he also needed to improve from last season. If he plays like this in most of his games, he will be fine.

Glad to see that Frost does a very good job NOW. Just a week or so ago, you were posting that he is weak on the puck in puck battles. Frost has come a long way in a short period of time, I guess. Back to reality though, Frost has been a pretty good player for a while, not just NOW.

Wasn’t Forester banged up early in camp? Maybe he’s not right physically?
- Dkos

he's not hurt, Foerster just needs to develop more in the ahl

I don't know why you do this to yourself.

My consistent criticism of Frost is about his consistency. Last night Frost played a good game IMO, and that opinion seems to be shared by Bill M. The previous game I thought Frost played like crap and that opinion was also shared by Bill, so much so that he dedicated an entire paragraph in his blog to how bad Frost played. In that blog post I specifically mentioned that this was Frost's biggest problem, that he cannot play consistently well. I also stated that seeing Frost live is much different/better than on TV because I could focus on him end to end, and last night he was moving his feet, supplying good back pressure and fighting hard along the boards. You don't always see these details watching the game on TV, so at least you should do is give me some credit for giving Frost credit for these things.

I'm not against that but the problem is where. If Foerster is to develop he has to play in the top 9 to get enough minutes each game. If Brink makes the team which I think he will, who does Foerster supplant?

Couturier - Farabee - TK
Cates - Laughton - Atkinson
Frost - Tippet - Brink
Poehling - Hathaway - Allison/Deslauriers

13th: Laczynski

I already have posted I think Allison should supplant Deslauriers. As you can see, there is no room right now for Foerster at least to start, until the inevitable injury occurs.

I did not question whether Frost played a good game last night or not. I did not question or comment on how Frost played in the previous pre season game.

What I'm questioning is your ability to accurately assess a player. How you described Frost's play from the most recent pre-season game, is how he has been playing for the better part of a full NHL season. As well as periods of previous seasons. Yet, you've been constantly spewing nonsense such as Frost is weak on the puck and not good in puck battles and that you don't think he is a good player. What's inconsistent here is your comments. It is to be expected though as it follows a repeated pattern. You don't have to see it live to see the details in Frost's game. I have accurately been telling you that Frost is a good all around player who plays well away from the puck and holds his own in puck battles. That all he needed was consistent ice time, in the right situations to be an effective player.

Checking in after a couple of weeks away and the usual dullards are still obsessed with pushing their absurd, anti-reality agendas. There can't be another team in the league where the leading ES scorer from last season is the subject of such irrational scrutiny and laughably hyperbolic criticism.

Your opinion, on who is going to make the team, does not mean that there is no room for Foerster. It is unlikely that Brink is going to make the Flyers out of camp. What did you think of Foerster's play last season and what did you think his chances of making the Flyers were before the pre-season?

The way Torts ripped Allison last season for being "always hurt" and saying it over and over and over again. I would not be surprised if every young player hides injuries from the staff.
- MBFlyerfan

Lmao. He didn’t rip into him. He stated a fact, just mutliple times. He actually said he liked his game when he’s healthy, he’s just always hurt. Which is true.

Then what would the top 9 look like with foerster and brink starting in the nhl this season?

Bobby Brink making his case. He may have jumped ahead of Foerster in the race for a roster spot in my opinion. He has looked quick and engaged.

Most fans don’t know who their leading scorer is at even strength is and why would they? Why should they? The only people who really look into this are the fans looking to give a certain player a get out of jail free card. I don’t know if Kevin Hayes would have been our leading scorer last season but we know that his offense was derailed. Moved down in the line up. Power play time being taken away.

I’m wondering if he can play both wings. He does score quite a bit from either side.

Frost has been inconsistent in his play, that is FACT, not opinion. When Frost started with Mike Yeo Frost he was not a good 200 foot player. He was poor on puck battles, constantly trailed the play, was timid on offense and lousy on faceoffs. Frost improved under Yeo whether you want to give Yeo credit or not. Last year under Torts Frost was still very inconsistent at the start of the year. He had a few good games but Torts wanted to see more from him more frequently and he was right to do so. Frost needed to improve and to his credit he did as the season went along. He got more confidence offensively, played a more consistent 200 foot game and battled hard for pucks. IN the offseason Frost needed to work on his face-offs and it looks like he has. This season the jury is still out on Frost. Nothing will be given to him. He needs to show that he can play consistently game in and game out. Last night he played well. The other night he played poorly. It seems to me my ability to assess a player is SPOT ON!

Frost was 42% at the faceoff dot last night. The worst of the four lines. Which is wild to me considering we won the faceoff battle last night…
