Yeah it’s not like there’s a downside but I just find it weird because GM’s don’t typically use waiver claims unless there’s a need.

I gotcha. If they think he's a potential third liner, maybe they do see a need.

Zohorna definitely has the edge over Nylander and others for me. Aggressive forechecking and good playmaking. He's definitely earned a roster spot right now.

Pp is still a mess. Letang net front, Malkin no where near his one timer.

The power play is an embarrassment and they keep handing them out

You need like 4 set passing plays to set up a few different looks and a guy infront of the net. It’s the philosophy that’s off

I’d rather rather see Guentzel on the 1st PP unit and drop Malkin down to the 2nd with rust and Smith. Malkin’s age is showing tonight

Pretty aggressive forcheck on the PK by the sens. Pens just don’t adapt. They Just get pushed further and further to the perimeter.

I’m convinced they don’t have an actual pp plan. Just the thought that their talent will prevail.

. Ovi can literally stand completely still in one spot and get a one timer every pp, and he doesn’t have Crosby to feed him. The coaching is (frank)ing terrible.

It's the preseason dude. Relax. They are going to get it together. It takes time. If we are still talking like this in January we have an issue. Come on guys.

Sometimes when teams turnover half the roster (like the Pens just did), it can take a lot of time to gel. That's my only concern.

However, yeah, they didn't really skate hard these last two games and I don't have a problem with it. PP was awful though.

It was awful and some of the guys are gonig through the motions, but they are all vets. This isn't a young team needing to get whipped into shape. They will be fine.

Did you guys see that Carolina doesn't have an AHL affiliate for this season? I didn't realize how many teams don't have permanent AHL affiliate teams associated to them.

The panic is almost as enjoyable as the Pickett preseason hype.

Haven’t had one for a while. They will just send guys to the Chicago wolves like they’ve been doing.

Well at least we can all agree Canada is causing some issues with Pittsburgh fans right now.

I watched about 90% of that game last night. Its only preseason but there were several things concerning to me. The PP as most are talking about here. Also, the deferring of shots for nice passes. Even with 40 shots I thought there were quite a few instance where they opted to pass when there was a real quality shot to be had. Both issues are rectifiable.

I guess finishing ability might be a continuing theme this season as well, we'll see. They had a lot of shots, and some great chances, but didnt bury. EK himself had upwards of 10 of his shot attempts blocked.

I agree but my main problem with the PP last night was one of the main problems I had last season....zero urgency. No hunger to it.

There’s no plan. Every pass just turns into a mad scramble to make another pass.

We must blame them and cause a fuss.
Before somebody thinks of blaming us!
