Is this an example of your "spot on" player evaluations?

I haven't paid any attention since the Boston game. I didn't know Z got waived. I think he's on a 2 way contract, right? Who else got waived?

I don't believe they have placed Zamula on waivers. His contract is one way. Which has nothing to do with waivers. To my knowledge, the Flyers haven't waived anyone. They've assigned a number of players from training camp back to the minors or to juniors.

he should be, I like his game. Is he blocking a kid, kind of but I have not seen Tyson make his case in camp, Brink was a surprise and Allison was and is an unknown. I hope Allison grabs a spot and now or mid-season the others are in.

I think he's a good solid role player but I wish they wouldn't have signed him.

John Tortorella will be behind the Flyers' bench to coach the final two games of the preseason. Lehigh Valley Phantoms head coach and Flyers assistant coach Rocky Thompson handled the first four games, while Tortorella observed from the pressbox.

Through 1.75 preseasons and 1 entire NHL season, Torts hasn't even cracked 80 games behind the bench. That includes 10 preseason games.

I don't really care about the preseason but if you are getting paid to coach an NHL team for an entire season, it is not trendsetting to be shooting the poop with the GM during regular season games. If Torts and Briere aren't taking the games seriously, why should the paying fans?

“It sucks up there, I didn’t learn a thing up there,” said Tortorella. That is answer alley because everybody has the answer up there because it’s so slow.

Tonight's lineup to start the season. Pick one of Brink/Forester on 3rd line and add Hathaway to 4th line. Staal and Walker on bottom pair. Hart in net. About as good as we could hope for.
